Manual Trans. shifting problems when hot.
I'm having a prob. with my MX-3 GS. 5 speed, new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, slave cylinder, fluid change. When the car is cold it shift perfectly fine and smooth but as it warms up and gets hot it shifts very hard, often grinding as I place it in various gears. My guess would be that...

Re: 1.8 top speed?
Will have to get a complete dyno done when I take my mx-3 in for an e-test this summer because according to my speedo I have had mine up to 235 km/h.....in English that's what?....approx. 140.3 m/h? Mind you that was on a nice open road with not much to dodge but the odd piece of road kill.

Good site to locate manuals but I notice it is a Chiltons Manual.....Chilton Sucks! they spend far too much timing explaining things like we're all 3 year olds and forget what the hell they initial intended to write about.

Re: MX3's are unrecognizable to lots of ppl
Unreal. I was pulled over last night for speeding the cop for some reason kept calling it a Nissan, he even wrote Nissan on the ticket. I even told him 4 times it is a Mazda MX-3 Precidia, worst part is he was behind me fully capable of reading the emblems on the lift hatch. Oxford County's finest, ...

Re: emergency break light stays on, need help!
If it isn't the resevoir requiring attention, it may be your distribution block or may very well be something simple such as bad or corroded wiring causing the problem. Check the wiring with a multi-metre to check for continuity, etc.

Re: Shop Reapair Manual
My apologies, I realized while I was on my way to "Cambodian Tire" that my reply must have come across as being quite rude, that was not my intention. But still, how do they justify 340.00 for a ******** book? They are insane, I guess they figure they have ya by the short and curley's sinc...

Re: Shop Reapair Manual
Yes I know the dealer wants 340.00, I even stated that in my previous post but I refuse to spend 340.00 for a book when there's got to be used ones floating around.

I'm looking for a repair manual for my GS, Haynes does not make one, Chiltons sucks as they try too hard to break everything down as though we're all 2 year olds thus completely making the book worthless as they neglect to make sure all the required info. is available ( I think Windows '98 for Dummi...

Re: Got a serious question re: MX-3
I bought my mx-3 with the V6, even though I am now on motor number seven they are a great little car. I bought the car used with 68k on her and when it reached 180k the number 4 journal was non existant. I picked up another mtr. at a yard in London which last me 3 months and once again number 4 jour...

Re: another bad distributor
I am not sure if there is an ignition module built into the Dist. But, quite often if the module is weak the oil inside will break down when hot. If it has a module try replacing that and see what happens. In the mean time Im having prob's with mine, 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears i have to race the throttle, ...

Re: CAR WON'T START~!!!!!!!!!!!
Forgot to mention, I think it was motor number 5 I was dropping in the hole I had a problem where it wouldn't start, I spent days working on it, Eventually I tore the Dist. apart, cleaned her up and reassembled it. I also removed the fuel injector relay and cleaned the contact points with a piece of...

Re: CAR WON'T START~!!!!!!!!!!!
to check to see if you're getting fuel through to your rails, simply get a wire, strip both ends and jump the GRD. F/Pump terminals in the doagnostic connection box behine the battery. If you hear a slight "Wrrrrr" at the leading end of your rails then you know you're getting fuel.
