brake light confusion?

ok so my i have a set of those 4 light tail lights, for some reason, they are super bright, and when i press the brake, they do not get any brighter, i checked the wiring and it all seems ok, but i dont since i did not install them, and the guy that did ghetto rigged them.
im confused, please help lol

allright so when i bought my mx-3, like 2 years ago, the genius i bought it from removed all the locks from the doors, and ghetto rigged a push button ignition, so my car can easily be stolen, i just bought a parts car, it has door locks, but no key, i cannot seem to find locks for the doors anywher...

yeah it'd be tied in right next to your stereo its just a small like 4x4 box with like 4 wires including your antennea wire.

it may be the alternator belt
but my best guess would be the alternator itself
mine used to do the same thing, and it ended up being my alternator going out, i replaced it and it was fine.
pull your alternator and have it checked maybe

the gearing on my tranny is low on the 1.6l already, i cant imagine how quick id go through the gears with more power lol
im gonna research this a wee bit

Some Mx-3's ive seen came stock with an antennae booster, at least the two mx-3's ive had.
its just a mini amp, that splices your antennae?
does yours have one?
