Re: Possibly a Head Gasket?

you lose compression when the seal between the heads and the valve cover is broken. same thing will happen if you take the oil cap off while the cars running. my guess at why it would surge would be maybe some oil was clogging up the gap in the broken gasket and allowing a good seal? i dont know a t...

Re: Wierd noise coming from front suspension? HELP

as a side note I had an issue similar to this recently and it was due to the top threads of my strut shaft being stripped! This was because I had not initially tightened it down far enough (or somehow it came loose). i had this happen on my rear struts when i replaced the mounts guess its a pretty ...

Re: 1.6l tranny swaps to taller gears?

the mx-3 is the only little four banger ive been in that you can feel acceleration in 5th gear going 70 lol
but you sacrafice the high rpms for that.......
one of my friends who works at a tranny shop says he can replace just the 5th and bump it up a wee bit
im still considering it

Re: 1.6l tranny swaps to taller gears?

well that destroys my whole logic lol
ive heard that a taller 5th will get you better gas cuz of the lower rpm's
any other ways to get the Rpm's down and increase gas mileage?
