Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

Awesome! I was having a little bit of a brain fart at that time. I ordered the gasket today; I just need to buy/borrow a torque wrench that will operate in inch/lbs. Does anyone have suggestions on places on the valve cover/gasket that need to have sealant applied to it? I want to make sure I cover ...

Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

So, my build is going to slow down for a little while because of another opportunity that has opened up for me. There is only one thing I love more than wrecking cars: drumming. My dad told me he would match whatever money I make to build a custom drum set; I have to earn $770 on my own to build ...

Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

Here are a few pictures I took of the MX-3:

just a picture from the front.

The exterior damage from the wreck. Not too bad if I might say. Also, the front valence is missing. I hit a pothole and it didn't like that one bit.

Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

Air bag replacement isn't as easy as just replacing the bags, unfortunately. You'll have to replace the sensors as well if you want to do it right.

To have them replaced professionally, that $1,000 isn't really "out there" in terms of pricing. I've read that repair shops aren't legally allowed to ...

Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

Hey, you kinda remind me of me.

Since your paint is fantastic looking, you are lucky.

Check out Rekognize's old car, he did black on red, it was sexy as hell.

I suggest you just swap in a new dash instead of fixing the old. Its not that hard, I'd give it a solid 4 hours if you do your reading ...

Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

inb4 flamed.

jk but no, don't do it. They are a big hoax.

Oh, I know they are a hoax and was not saying in any way I was going to buy one for serious use! I was expecting flaming from not wording it correctly, but luckily I can justify myself first. My dad and I were going to buy one for ...

Re: dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

Welcome to the site. Right off I think you should touch base with Ryan. You may find you have a few things in common. Secondly, those shoe laces clash with the car big time so best to swap those babies out soonest. Get JDM ones if possible. Don't bother with a 2.5 exhaust it won't do you any good ...

dexxin - '94 MX-3 GS

So, here's a little background to my worklog/rebuild: I'm 16 years old (17 in March) and my first car was given to me on March 19, 2010: a Mazda MX-3 GS. 192,000 miles. It needed a paint job, tint removal, gasket replacement... It was a work in progress. When I first saw it on Craigslist I was in ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

Ryan, I can understand the MX being very stable, but 1. This was some BAD gravel and it gave no time to react. and 2. My tires weren't in the best condition.

My best friend is fine. He went to the hospital and had his cuts washed out, had some MRIs taken and had his eye washed out. He walked out of ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

Well, this thread is now obsolete. Crashed the MX-3 today when the gravel on an old country road took me into a ditch. I was going the speed limit, swear to God... Honestly, I don't even care about the car; my best friend was in the passenger seat and went to the hospital. I hate to say it, but I'm ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

Woah woah woah, you guys all talk like the KL-ZE swap is super easy, but there are all these trap doors! I understand now how I would need a new clutch (and a new one before either of the mods wouldn't be a bad idea either) and why after reading the posts and doing some research. I'm positive and ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

The exhaust is already decided upon. I guess I will just be a step ahead of the game for the ZE swap.

Now when you are talking about clutches, do you mean something like a Stage 2 clutch? or can I really get away with buying a clutch off of Ebay? In all honesty, will it really be COMPLETELY ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

Hey everyone, sorry for abandoning this thread, high school gets really crazy with AP classes. Anyways, I have come to many decisions about the future of Andy, my MX-3, thanks to some good mechanics, knowledgeable performance experts, and funds from my dad (who likes to live vicariously through me ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

It is 2:35 A.M. and I just got done doing homework. I have read all of the replies, but I cannot respond to them all right now; I am WAY too tired. I will respond tomorrow (at about this same time; Friday night football in Texas is serious business). I will say in advance that I really appreciate ...

Re: Am I ready for a Nitrous Kit?

Solo and h3x,

Thank you so much for your input and helpful suggestions! I'm in Pick n Pull right now looking around a little bit, seeing what is in my area. The engine swap is not something I could do though.

h3x, you are right; I am still running mostly stock. Under the hood I do have a Short ...
