Re: The "Quick Question" Thread
Having problems to find my coolant temp sensor and fan sensor. The problem- Radiator cooling fan is not kicking in (in very rare occasions only). I suspect it's faulty temp sensor, because it shows inccorect temp readings all the time(and probably don't send the signal for fan to kick in). Which is ...

Re: The "Quick Question" Thread
Maybe it will be sound like a dumb question but I'm really out of options. Which head of my mx-3 v6 engine is the left one? I got error code that indicated that my left head O2 sensor is dead. Been in several repair shops and they give me different opinions about which one is the left head! It's mak...

Re: Who knows- tell me
how about you just adjust it as low as it will run smoothly without shaking or stalling then do a half turn back. if it sounds like its going to die when your using electrical devices at idle you probably want to raise it slightly, if not it should be fine. it doesnt have to be 650, every motor is ...

Re: Who knows- tell me
Jump TEN and grd then turn the screw in until the engine stats to die then back out until you reach 650 rpm. If you turn the screw out too far your engine will be sluggish at low rpms. Once you remove the jumper the engine will go up to 700rpm. How can you tell where the ~650rpm are?The whole range...

Who knows- tell me
It's been a while since my last post. The thing is- does anybody knows the factory settings for idle screw?engine-1.8v6. Car-mazda mx-3. I tried to set idle with workshop repair manual(connecting GND&TEN slots with paperclip) and adjusting the idle srew with srewdriver. First day was quite o.k,b...

Re: mx-3 1.6 and 1.8v6 front shock absorbers
The previous springs aren't cut either, the cause was those dead struts.

mx-3 1.6 and 1.8v6 front shock absorbers
I really don't know how they'r called properly, but I think you got the idea. The thing is- today found out that both front absorbers are toast(I was trying to figure out, does the ultra-low front of my mx-3 is because of lowered springs(I was hoping that previous owner has cut them,so the car front w...

Re: Blown head gasket
A lot of used engine stores have equipment to make an engine run outside of the car, just got to a reputable place that offers a warranty as well as run the compression test. If thats good its a good engine. You may not believe it,but in my country there are no such places/workshops with such equip...

Re: Blown head gasket
I have a question to all of you. Does mazda mx-3 1.8v6 head gaskets comes only from metal,or there might be different material used? I bought(at least I though) metal head gaskets, but the technician tries to tell me,that they weren't metal. In the shop the guy looked upon parts cataloge and told- ''...

Re: Blown head gasket
Swap the engine to a KLDE/ZE 2.5 v6. There are many MANY posts about this, so have a search ;) Use your k8 gearbox if you like and driveshafts, but use a 2.5 clutch. You don't have to swap wiring harness either. Have a look through other peoples worklogs, there's so many about doing exactly this. G...

Blown head gasket
Hello everybody! I have a huge problem. It seems that my head gasket has been blown. I was thinking what would be cheaper- replacing it(considering that there may be a crack in the block),or make straight swap to mx-6 2.5v6? My car has K8 1.8v6 so the repair costs are very big. Any ideas? bes...
