Valve Tick Question
Valve Tick is generally from the HLAs, and the typical sugestion for "fixing" it is using a different weight of oil, right?
What I want to know is what is actually happening that shouldn't be? Or, what isn't that should be? And also, is this more than a neusance problem (I.E. is it going...

Re: Coolants leaking.
Ewige Blumenkraft,
Anyway it probably just drips more after you've been driving it around. As for finding the source: clean your engine first, then run it 'till you can trace the drip to the leak. Make sure your hoses are properly tightened as well.
Good Luck

Re: umm whats grinding under my hood?
With that description, it could be a few things, but it's probably in the drive train. It doesn't really matter what people think it is or isn't, it only matters that you get it fixed. So either take it to a shop, or start trouble shooting.
Check for things rubbing, try to specifically locate the ...

Re: I need to get this sticker off!
Don't use WD-40 or gas on paint. Denatured alcohol, or Isopropel (rubbing) alcohol.
As to good smells, my wife likes xylene, toluene, & F2ClHC2 (circut board cleaner) but not kerosene or gas.

Re: Power Window Swap
Have you considered getting motors from an aftermarket company, specifically for converting manual to power windows? I belive you could then use your power window capable door panels.
Not totally sure though, check to see if your PW door panels will fit without the window handel on. If it fits, y...

Re: one more retarded question
You can buy the front ZX2 spring perches instead of a lot of dremiling, but like Jesse said, you'll need the spring compressor still (mounting blocks). You should inspect the mounting blocks for wear as well.
Here's the list. ZX2 struts ZX2 Thrust bearings ZX2 Spring perches OR dremel, time (~3hrs...

Re: ZX2 struts with ABS?
The differnce between the ABS & non-ABS struts is a bracket to hold the ABS sensor wire. Some have suggested using zip ties to secure the wire to non-ABS struts. You could get really profesional & have some slip on brackets machened as well.
As for the ZX2 struts, they're great struts, esp...

Re: 1.6l SOHC whats the best thing to do for power?
If it's knocking like it says in your sig., then switch up to premium gas. An exsaust will help with knocking, where as an intake will increase the knocking. New cams will run you a pretty penny & won't give a whole lot more power without some other mods as well. Just one of the many tech links ...

Re: 1.6L SOHC idle problems??? anyone?
It's probably the same idle problem that most l4's have, just not as pronounced. Improving your charging system is probably the solution. Search for idle in this forum & you'll see a ton of info.
Of course checking for vacume leaks is a good Idea as well.

Re: minor upgrades...
The advantages of a larger oil filter are better flow and higher filter cappacity. The larger surface area is really the important thing; It lets more oil through, and traps more dirt because the velocity per area is lower.

Re: 4-6 alt swap
1) Not unless you've got a lot of non-stock electrical loads. If it's doing fine now, it'll be okay with the new alt. 2) Only if the voltage regulator in the alt is bad. (No)
Alternator ratings are just indicators of their ability to produce current. They will not produce that much current all the...

Wires and plugs are good but you're probably not going to see noticable gains unless the ones you've got are really bad.
Have you switched to synthetic oil? You can also use a larger oil filter such as for a Hyundia Elantra. For Mobil oil filters: M1-104.
Have you considered the TB coolant bypas...

Re: no sound
If you rinse it with water, make sure to let it dry out & that you got ALL the stuff off of it. For most electrical components this is safe, but will mess with mechanical devices.
You can still buy (CFC) circut board cleaner in the U.S.. This will probably work better than water.
Letting the...
