USE KL ECU and KL VAF. K8 ECU is not good to control KL injectors. It gives the engine way too much fuel. You will have very poor mileage.

You can find it at your Mazda dealer. <BR>There is a rubber gasket under it (recessed in the housing underneath)which compresses when you tighten it.

Start with (wet type, dust is a b..ch) 180 continue with 300,500,800, 1200. After three weeks you will or will not be satisfied with the results. <BR>The front engine cover and intake manifold should be sitting on your bench not in the engine compartment. <P>I am satisfied with my work

Yes, I am replacing this same plastic thing with a new aluminium one. I bought one yesterday.<BR>Probably they discovered the plastic ones were cracking a lot.

You HAVE TO use a 2.5 VAF and 2.5 (KL) ECU with the 2.5 engine. I just swapped a highly modified 2.5 KL03 engine (regrinded cams, higher compression, ported heads, 64 mm TB, 13 lbs flywheel) in my MX-3. While runing on the K8 computer fuel consumption went up 50% compared to the old K8 engine. Also ...

You can push the 1.8 V6 to 7600 rpm (indicated) before the rev-limiter kicks in. Even in fifth gear

As someone already said, check the rubber intake. With time cracks develop and air is sucked in and thean the engine is running lean.
