USE KL ECU and KL VAF. K8 ECU is not good to control KL injectors. It gives the engine way too much fuel. You will have very poor mileage.

Re: VRES?

Maybe someone should fit an actuator and a solenoid and run a vacuum line down there to connect it to the ECV. Similar to the VRIS. Then use a rpm switch to control the solenoid.
I am browsing through various japanese sites with the help of altavista. Unfortunately after Italian, English and ...

Re: Please help - need KL-ZE info

The 1.8 is not any lighter. That makes for one of the heaviest 1.8 liter engines around.
Will you use the V6 in your car?
[ October 20, 2002: Message edited by: MX-3 SLO ]

Re: kl-ze in a chrome look?

Start with (wet type, dust is a b..ch) 180 continue with 300,500,800, 1200. After three weeks you will or will not be satisfied with the results.
The front engine cover and intake manifold should be sitting on your bench not in the engine compartment.
I am satisfied with my work :-)

Re: klze gas mileage

You HAVE TO use a 2.5 VAF and 2.5 (KL) ECU with the 2.5 engine. I just swapped a highly modified 2.5 KL03 engine (regrinded cams, higher compression, ported heads, 64 mm TB, 13 lbs flywheel) in my MX-3. While runing on the K8 computer fuel consumption went up 50% compared to the old K8 engine. Also ...

You can push the 1.8 V6 to 7600 rpm (indicated) before the rev-limiter kicks in. Even in fifth gear :-)

As someone already said, check the rubber intake. With time cracks develop and air is sucked in and thean the engine is running lean.
