the klze is an obd-1 (on board diagnostics) and the 96 mx3 is obd-2 , so the wiring is a little tricky I would have to believe.

mine passed very well. And my cat is on its way out. This is with the 2.5 ecu, the 2.5 vaf and all emissions control devices hooked up and working. Im not sure what it would be like with the ze ecu and 1.8 vaf. But I would guess it would run cleaner.

ZE. All the way. Less headaches too. Low km as opposed to the KL is a bonus regardless of a 1-300 dollar price difference.
