Re: What is KL 01?
No, it is still used on the '93 KL03 cars.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times
Dude, two turboed Miatas and an RX7? I think you need a KL engine swapped turbo 323 or MX3 to complete the collection!

Re: piping
I'd be VERY careful abut switching to a smaller rad when going forced induction.
Not only does a front mount intercooler reduce airflow to a rad, forced induction also increases engine heat. By a lot.
I'd gte an upgraded rad unit. Custom fit one from Permacool or Flexalite.

Re: 1/4 Mile Times
Cool, got pics/slips/dyno plots? I'm curious about your system. Is it a Dealer Alt/Flyin' Miata set up? Some of those kits sound like they go like stank!
Very nice. How does the roll cage look? I've seen one local Miata with one and I didn't like it at all....

Re: 1/4 Mile Times
My best was a 13.2s@109mph. This was on drag radials at 12 PSI tire pressure (13 PSI on the driver side). My 60' was 1.9s and the launch was a semi-babyied one - the MX3 drive shafts don't hold up well to my combo.
Most of the time I'm between mid 13s and low 14s, my setup this year was very untun...

Re: for those with turbo....
Ha, gotta love the Japanese language instructions. I gave some to my mechanic, he thought he had drank too much for a micro-second...
That sounds like the line of the air hose to send the air back into your system (since it's metered by your air flow meter/VAF). Mine is tapped into my intake manif...

Re: KLZE - KL03
Wicked setup man. SDS stand alone computer, eh? What injectors? Stock bottom end? I notice he has no air filter on his turbo. I have two fibreglass mesh pieces under pantyhose

Re: for those with turbo....
I have a BOV from a 2nd gen turbo RX7 -- works fine at low/med boost. Cheap, too. ;D
I just have a small nipple from the intake piping, and then a piece of silicon hose clamped onto the nipple which goes to the BOV. Easy as pie.

Re: Question - 96 2.5 v6 in 92 mx3
You can use the intake manifold and ECU from the 1.8 or the 2.5. You need the VAF from the 2.5 IMHO.
If you can fit the intake manifold from the 2.5, use it. You may have to move the battery/brake cylinder a mite, but it should fit (at least in a 323 engine bay it fits and that's with a turbo too...

Re: KLZE - KL03
Yup, but one usually ends up needing the KLZE ECU to get the full benefit form the KLZE engine.
Toronto's pretty lucky in that we have several fast/fastish KLZE based cars around. A couple of Probes run the KLZE and pull around 190 HP to the wheels, a Protege runs ZE engine parts and is in the 14s...
