Depends on what the damage is inside the cylinder. It's a safe bet that the heaad is probably scrap. I don't know about the piston and the cylinder wall...

If it really bothers you, get the head rebuilt, and make sure the HLA,s get replaced with new ones. Meanwhile you could switch to a good synthetic oil with a good oil additive (like ProLong or Z-Max), and your valve tap should disappear.
