Re: Air Conditing in the online manual?

I'd go with Superk's advice, and pull it up at a junkyard. What you need is the discharge (or low pressure) line. Advance Auto parts doesn't have it (I work there), and my guess is neither Autozone nor Napa will have it either. Anyways, after replacing the line you'll have to go to an AC shop to pul...

Re: A/C can't compete with Florida heat

IF your system cools down the air, you shouldn't need to make vacuum. Chances are you just need to add some R-134a, which you CAN do yourself. Just buy a can of R-134a and the hose, and follow the instructions in the can. If you suspect you may be needing more than a full can, Advance auto parts hav...

Re: The "BP" Checklist

Again, sorry it took me so long... It looks to me like you're on the way to be disappointed. One fairly popular definition of mechanics is that it's "the science of compromise". That meaning most parameters in a vehicle are opposite to each other, so you have to find the right balance betw...

Re: The "BP" Checklist

Dark rider: sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm having connection problems. I'm getting a little confused as to what you want to do with the tranny. The engine you bought is, obviously, for a manual tranny. If you want to go automatic, you don't need to do anything to the engine, except, of cours...

Re: The "BP" Checklist

You're right, there's no distributor. Scratch my prior comment... Also, I see the engine is already a manual transmission one, so you don't need anything to adapt it to the new tranny. I would, however, get a new clutch. while you're at it, if you don't have any money or time constraints, now it'd b...

Re: The "BP" Checklist

I would, first, check the distributor. Do you really need a new one, or can you just get away with a new cap and rotor? Same with the engine harness. As far as I know, the BP and the B6 harness are the same. Anyways, make sure. I could be mistaken. Then, I would add: Engine and transmission mounts O...

Re: where are all the girls at?

i dont know about that but women driving SUVs is a whole different story. fuckers can't stay in there lanes, can't park or maybe thats just here in NY where they can barely see over the damn steering wheel. My damn fiance told me she wanted a damn escalade, i threw up a little in my mouth and then ...

Re: where are all the girls at?

Oh, this one is a nice guy, and he knows his stuff. But I keep on bugging him about the civic being a toy car, and things like that. We work at an Advance Auto Parts, so I have tons of stuff to drive him crazy, and, being that I have a (completely undeserved, of course) reputation as a practical jok...

Re: where are all the girls at?

Curiously enough, for the 2+ years I had my mx3, nobody ever asked me the chick question. Now, looking back, I'm thinking maybe they tried, but the smoke from my exhaust didn't let them talk... Anyways, now, one of the managers at my workplace is a civic fan... I can't tell you how much fun I'...

Re: G-Tech and the like

Thanks RS. I've been reading a lot on the Dynolicious, and, for what it looks like, only the people at Garage 419 seem to think it's better than the G Tech. There are several reviews that compare the dynolicious with the Vbox, and the general consensus seems to be that it's a bit inconsistent... Any...

G-Tech and the like

I'm thinking on buying an accelerometer to help me tune my car.
My problem is I only know of the G-Tech unit.
Does anybody know if there's another better/more evolved unit within the same price range?
Thanks in advance... :)

Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware

A few months ago, I was lucky ( ) enough to be attacked by about 1800 viruses at once, when I mistakenly opened an e-mail I was trying to delete. At the time, I had the Norton Anti Virus installed, which did NOT detect any of them, did NOT stop them, and, once I scanned my computer, did also ...
