Re: worlds first production hydrogen car - Honda FCX clarity
Hydrogen isn't consumed in the process of developing the electricity which drives the engine. When it leaves the tail pipe it's still hydrogen...it's just ganging up in pairs on a poor oxygen molecule. It is possible to make hydrogen efficiently. Right now the technology is very expensive, but the ...

Re: worlds first production hydrogen car - Honda FCX clarity
Ethanol, no, biodiesel, yes. Truck's are the worst polluters of motor vehicles, not cars. Clean diesel, with natural gas or propane supplements is actually very efficient. There are people out there working on a gasoline engine that runs w/o a radiator, and uses water injection. While I am for this...

Re: worlds first production hydrogen car - Honda FCX clarity
Honestly, why would people want to drive hydrogen cars? I understand they are "clean" and don't release hydrocarbons themselves, People want to drive hydrogen cars for the same reason they drive hybrids: because they're "cool". Go tell the owner of a Prius their car pollutes mor...

Re: don't start
You probably have it 180 degrees off. Take the belt off, turn the crankshaft one full turn, and put the belt back on.
Let me know how it goes.

Re: How to best fix a bad paintjob?
Well, the best way would be, obviously, to get a new paintjob. Other than that, you could do a decent job (sometimes) by sanding the part carefully, evening out the bumps and scratches with some bondo, and then priming and painting with rattle cans. However, I would first take a hard look at the res...

I agree. However, be ready to pull more than one, make sure you inspect them carefully, and, most importantly, GET THE WARRANTY!

Re: Rebuild started but seems like it's been done before
Nice work RX8, very nice. I see the bits of grime you're talking about. If they're not to hard to get out, I'd recommend you to do it. It's never a good idea to leave bits of carbon inside the cylinder, which could eventually get dislodged and end up scratching your cylinder walls. Anyways, If you s...

Re: 1.8 V6 - Engine Tuning
Interesting enough.. if you swap the engine for a 2.5l from a probe gt.. it will be cheaper and you will be making MUCH more power than with all the mods I mentioned... Yep. Of course, then you'd be seeing that nasty four letter word every time you open the hood...(where's a "yuck" smilie...

Re: Funny Viberations.
Hmmm. A rebuilt unit at AAP is $135.49...OOOUUUUCCHHH! That's for a '96 protege with a BP engine. The good part is that it's a 70 A unit (the B6 comes with a 65 A), so you'd have a little more juice to play with. Who knows? depending on what you may find at the junkyard, it may be a valid op...

Re: Interior Noise
There is a product called "lizard skin" which applies like a paint (you can apply it with a roller) and it's said to be a great sound deadening material and thermal insulator. I have never used it, so I can't tell you if it's good or not, but it may be worth a shot...
