Re: Just Bought My 1st MX-3
Well, in my case, whether I'm in a hurry or not it's irrelevant. I believe in responsibility. I DEMMAND responsibility. So, if you make a commitment and you don't keep it, we already have a problem, but in your second date I WILL be there, no phone calls, and you will either deliver as promised or l...

Re: Just Bought My 1st MX-3
Call them, and tell them you'll be there tomorrow 10 a.m. to either pick up your tranny or get a refund. Tomorrow, go there. If they don't have the tranny, and they refuse to refund you, call the police. You definitely have a lot more patience then me. I would've gone there and gotten either ...

Re: car is shaking at idle and at 120 kph
You're welcome. Another thing you can do, being that your car is OBD II, is take to an auto part store and run a diagnostic, to see if you're having any problem the computer can detect. Other than that, I don't know. If the engine mounts were bad, you'd feel a thump when you change the throttle inpu...

Re: car is shaking at idle and at 120 kph
Hmmm, I would first check/replace my spark plugs, wires and distributor cap. Your idle speed is a little high, but that should make the engine vibrate less, not more. Also, look for oil inside the spark plug tubes. If there's oil, you'll have to replace the valve cover gasket. Make sure you buy a se...

Re: car is shaking at idle and at 120 kph
You'd have to provide more information. For example: What's your idle speed (RPM)? Is it always shaking when idling? Is your idle stable? Do you feel a bump when either you hit the throttle on gear, or when you release it when moving? How old are your shocks? Are the shocks in good shape? Do you hea...

Re: KJ-ZEM conversion?
There's been talk about it, but, as far as I know, nobody has ever done it. Somebody in another forum tried it with a g5 tranny, and it bolts right up, but other than that, nobody has ever tried to see if there's a flywheel/clutch combination that'd make it possible to match them up. Besides that, t...

Re: weird bp tranny problem, need an hint
Kab-rst: I don't know if your last post was in response to mine, but if it was, I think there's some confusion here.
I wasn't talking about the transmission's bearings. The pilot bearing is in the flywheel, and the end of the input shaft fits in it.

Re: weird bp tranny problem, need an hint
Hmmm, Kab-rst: I'm thinking your problem can be the pilot bearing, or the input shaft worn out where it engages the pilot bearing. If you're gonna take the tranny out, take a good look at them.

Re: 3" round tailpipe on 1,6 sohc base.Is it good?
Did anybody notice the 3" he's referring to is the tip of the backbox? Not the actual piping.. Single 3" round tailpipe design is referred to the endtip of the backbox.. Doubt that would make much difference on the performance.. You're right. In the link he posted there's no actual mentio...

Re: bent shift shaft on trans now what?!
WagZE: you're making me feel like cr@p.
I was eight, but I had an almost engineer behind me, every step of the way, and the tranny was the simplest kind of tranny you could ask for. And even then, WE ASSEMBLED IT WRONG!!!
Believe me: you did great!
Now, forget about it, and get your car moving...

Re: bent shift shaft on trans now what?!
It's not hopeless. You're just in over your head. I disassembled and reassembled my first transmission when I was 8 years old, with my cousin (who was just a few months away from getting his mechanics engineer's degree) looking over my shoulder and guiding me the whole time. That was a 3 speed, non ...

Re: bent shift shaft on trans now what?!
So I was just gonna use my burnt old transmission and swap sensors and rubber pieces. As soon as I got the old axle piece out that was stuck in the damm piece that the axle gears slide into fell into the transmission. This is a nightmare. A real night mare. I stuck something in the other side like ...
