I could get you a j-spec 1.8L turbo (180 hp) for like $900 us plus shipping. Cost less then a rebuild and has a lot more power.

You will need the disty from your kl08 or you have to get an msd. Also you could swap the EGR system over to pass e-test.

Do a leak down test and you will see if you have to or not, but a ze with bad head gasket usually has more problems then just the head gasket.

I just got mine done. It looks very nice and works perfect. The plate is lazer cut. If anybody is interested, you can shipp the TB to him and he will shipp it back in a day. It cost $110 us plus shipping there and back.

I have met guys that know a lot more about our cars then most of the "licensed mechanics".

It's an upgrade, but it works just as well I had my car on the dyno with the corksport ecu and with the J-spec ecu. I got about the same hp.

Did you try to turn the disty a bit? Your sparks could be a little late or you timing could be off. Did you check the timing belt?
