Re: why is everyone so scared?
I'll break it down even MORE simple... Few on this site have the MONEY to attempt such a thing, and the ones that do are smarter than to put 10 grand in a 6,000 FWD extinct car. I mean face it, the people that really went all out with their mx-3 (Jeff, Dave) SOLD their mx-3's to move on to something...

Re: Why not a Miata front?
Just by looking at the pics i can say the front would be higher than stock, and the hood on the miata is shorter than an mx-3. We already know the connecting points wont match. So there are three pretty simple things to fix. Length really shouldnt be a problem.

Re: 626 2.0L Turbo Engine in a MX-3?
I think jason meant to say it cant easily be done. Its not worth it either way because the BP engines are better built and have alot more potential. Keep in mind that engine (turbo included) is 16 years old.

Re: Bell housing?
The Bell housing is what connects the transmission to the engine. You'll have to search junkyards for one unless you wanna drain your pockets for one.

Re: Chrome flaking off rims causing the tires to leak
what you are saying doesnt make any sense. Painted chrome falling off the wheels would not cause the air to leak from the tire.

Re: can i make my shifter shorter
take the shift knob off with the screws, but be careful not to snap the HOLD wire too high into the knob, otherwise you wont be able to hook it back up. You can safely cut about 3 inches off of the shaft, dont go any more of you wont be able to reconnect the knob and shift into every gear

Re: transmission ?????
Easiest way to tell would be check the dipstick. Let your car warm up, then with your foot on the brake gently shift into each gear and sit for a few seconds, then come back up to neutral and check the stick. The tranny fluid should be up at the cold marker and no higher. You wanna make sure you're ...

Re: WHAT THE .........
take 10 mins and look under the hood in your car. I bet you'll find at least 5 small items made by mitsubishi. The only thing faulty that i know of that mitsubishi manufactured is the disty. Everything else holds up fine

Re: Duel Exhausts?
essentially that would work, but it would only get you back to where you started with a single exhaust. Add the weight of additional piping and muffler and you're only slowing yourself down. Like i said before our engines (both I4 and v6) simply dont breath hard enough to make any gains from a dual ...

. I'd be very cautious about this type thing, especially considering the site owner is too cheap to pay for his own webspace. ![Shrug ](./images/smilies/shrug.gif)
