Re: Hard rough shift from 1st to 2nd

You say this happens when it's sitting for a while before driving? Could be the hydraulics losing pressure. When driving a lot, pressing the clutch builds pressure but if you have a leak somewhere, when you're not driving and the clutch is sitting, it will lose pressure. If this happens, then the cl...

Re: Making mx-3 gears shorter ... how? Changing transmission?

A lot of people do that assuming it will make the car faster. My transmission that came with my GS was already worked on for shorter gearing on 1st and maybe 2nd as well. It really doesn't always help. The idea is to get it to fly thru the RPMs faster so you can hit the higher powerband sooner in 1s...

Re: Questions on removing throttle body

If you can not find a gasket in time from local providers, using gasket maker/paper, to cut out and make your own, and some RTV silicone will work just fine. I used it when I replaced my TB with a ported/polished one. Works fine and I don't have any leaks. If you choose to do it this way, make sure ...

Re: Help! Can not get air to completely bleed from clutch lines!

Ok sure enough it was the slave cylinder. I took it out and the o-ring was pretty fubar'd. I got a rebuild kit from AutoZone for 6.99 and repaired my slave cyl. Funny thing is that they were the only carrier that had it in stock in town, and they only had 1 in stock! 8) I bleed out the air and the b...

Re: Help! Can not get air to completely bleed from clutch lines!

Ok I got a hold of a small clear hose to monitor bubbles from the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder. It seems that after 10-15 more minutes of bleeding, the bubbles just keep coming out. There are large bubbles and even small bubbles similar to the ones in a glass of sparkling champagne lol. It's ...

Re: Help with bleeding Clutch master cylinder!!! Not working!?

Thanks. I managed to reuse the same line and I installed the master cylinder. I've been working on bleeding the line, however it seems to be taking forever to get a good grip with the clutch pedal. I've gone thru 3/4 of a 32fl oz bottle of brake fluid already and I still have not gotten a stable gra...

[Solved] Cant get air to completely bleed from clutch lines!

I noticed I was having clutch problems when it wouldn't disengage. I looked it up on the forum and people mentioned that it may be the master and slave cylinders. When I got under the dash and checked around the clutch pedal behind the master cylinder, I noticed a fluid leak coming out of the master...

Randomly will not start; All electrical goes out

Lately I've noticed that my car will randomly seem to short out when I try starting it. It doesn't happen very often (I would say 1/10 starts). When I go to crank the motor, all the electrical goes out before it even starts to turn the motor. I found that the only temp fix for now is to disconnect t...

Re: THE UGLIEST MX-3

To be honest I don't mind body kits when they're clean and resemble the stock bumpers (not ricy). But, this is pretty bad. LoL at the interior and the bat symbol on the hood. The owner was probably just having fun (I hope)

Re: How loud is your engine?

My V6 is currently stock and isn't loud at all. However, when it's cold out and I start it up and wait for it to warm, it sounds like it's going to eat itself. But, once it's warm it sounds nice :D

Re: YOUR FIRST MOD !!!

My first mod was a CAI mainly for maintenance. My stock intake was held together with packaging scotch tape when I got it. I didn't really like that, plus the filter didn't look like it had been changed for quite a while. Oh and I replaced my burned out license plate bulbs with LEDs but after my bud...

A bunch of Throttle Body problems (Idle, leaks)

First off I need to mention that I am not using the stock Throttle body that came with the car. My buddy and I replaced the stock TBI with a TBI from a 95 MX-6 2.5L to my stock manifold (K8 Motor). Overall my problem is with high Idle and leaks between the TBI and the manifold. Here's what happened ...

Hello from Tucson, Arizona!

Hello everyone. I recently traded a 97 Honda Accord EX 4dr for a 93 Mazda MX-3 GS 93 from a local repo dealer. The car itself is in fair condition; it has minor rust spots on the doors and a bunch of missing paint on the hood as well as small spots on the body but no biggie. Interior is shot to hell...
