Re: So wait,what?
I guess you first need to decide what kind of power you want and what it will take to get you there. With what you are going to be droppin on the cams and pistons and what not. just thow in the BP. I'm sure it'll put more power to the wheels for a fraction of the price. right, I'm sure that is true...

Re: So wait,what?
the link that flyer posted will be the saving grace that I did not have. You will need to add some form of engine management to control your fuel and ignition maps... so you will have to cut and tap the stock wiring harness (ecu pins and their functions). Yikes! So maybe I'm just not ready for this...

Re: 802mx3 - 1996 RS

I'm going to replace the water temp sensor to see if that helps. I remember a 1990 vw golf that had similar problems. I replaced every thing I ...

Re: Strange engine
Fixed the idle problem, now my exhaust manifold is cashed! The whole thing is crap. Wicked loud and not worth fixing or replacing with a used one. Would like to get an actual performance header but, go figure there isnt one for my car. I've got to be honest and say that is a little ridiculous. What ...

Re: 802mx3 - 1996 RS
Ok, found out why my idle was so bad. The factory intake boot was severely cracked. Replace with custom intake. Also seafoamed the car and had a good laugh at the amount of smoke. My factory header is junk, and I need something right away. I've heard talk about the prob 2.0 header working. Is this t...

Re: So wait,what?
I'm a couple weeks out. Still waiting on some parts to arrive. Then lots of powder coating. There is little difference with the obd2 turbo process. It's all mainly electrical issues... but now you have the ecu pin outs where I did not. have you checked if you even had an obd2 yet? yes I do have obd...

Re: So wait,what?
that's why I went with AEM's F/IC for my car. It is made for OBD2 cars and allows me to adjust fuel and ignition timing with out throwing a CEL. So wait, I guess I'm kinda lost. There really isnt much difference in turbo a 1996 compared to a 1995? I'm not worried about a CEL if everything is workin...

thanks for the offer but we have tons of good engines around here. My engine only has 97k on it and is a good/potential rebuild for boost.

Re: So wait,what?
But how do we get around the OB2? I'm also (-kinda of subject-) surprised there isnt a chip of some kind for the RS. I to would love to stay with the B6 just wan to make sure its economical before I try anything. If the BPT swap is easier and will save time then thats the road I'll go. Who here has ...

Re: Strange engine
I'll check codes tonight. Checked vacuume lines and all are good except the actually intake boot. I was wondering myself about the MAF. All I did was clean it with MAF cleaner. Car was not doing any of this before all of this stuff.
