Re: Strange Voltage at Coil Pos (+) HEI Mod w/ EXT Coil
I went to hook up my volt meter to the G terminal on the HEI yesterday, and found that there wasn't enough voltage to give a reading. So I checked it with my multimeter and got about 0.7vdc. I then checked the B and C terminals (This is all while the car is running) and got about 13vdc on both, are ...

Re: Help! with HEI install
As far as self tapping terminals go... I'll never use 'em again. I had an intermittant stall when I first did the HEI Mod that I traced back to one of those terninals being loose. It'd kill the engine 90% of the time when I hit a bump. I might use 'em until you're sure the wires are right and the ca...

SOLVED - Strange Voltage at Coil Pos (+) HEI Mod w/ EXT Coil
OK, long story short I've been fighting with some funny ignition problems for a looooong time now.If my memory serves correctly they started 4 or 5 months after I did the HEI mod. At this point the only link in the system that is more than a year and a half old is my disty (cap and rotor are brand n...

Re: I have tried everything and spent alot please help!
you said you tested the disty signal... did you try taking the cap off and checking the contacts and rotor inside? If you have (or have access to) a digital multimeter check the resistance between the posts and the contacts inside. If they're corroded a quick fix is to scrape 'em clean with a utilit...

Re: Cosmetic ZE Refinishing
A good start to either polishing or painting is hitting up a local memorial shop, a place that makes headstones. They should have a bead-blaster that'll take a lot of the work outta polishing or prepping for paint. The place I found generally charges about 5bux a part, which is dirt cheap for how mu...

Resistor for HEI Swap
A little bit of background, I had some intermittant stalling issues and some funny tach readings after I did the HEI mod. After about 2 years I ended up trackin it down to the resistor for the tach signal, replaced it with a smaller one I had lying around from my alarm system and things were great f...

Oh yeah, instructions to test the ignition coil are one G-026 of the online shop manual. A MSD Blaster coil II is like 25 bucks I memory serves me right, and maybe another 25 for the power tower. Also solder every wire, not long after I did mine It'd stall after I'd hit a big bump. fixed a loose con...

Not sure if this would be the issue, seeing as you've gone to the extent of the HEI and checked for spark but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. I shampooed my engine two days ago, (never taking that shortcut again) the car idled like crap after, and shook real bad if I gave it some gas. Turns...

As a side note to the FPR code, I rmember reading something a while back about troubleshooting it by hooking the vaccuum line up to one of the vris solenoids... and that got me thinking about a solenoid that (I think) was mounted to the side of the factory airbox I removed. I've never had a factory ...

I doubt it's the AFPR, I've got a fuel pressure guage in the car and the pressure is bang on, jumps up real crisp on acceleration. Unlike the Cosmo one I had before it which couldn't maintain a solid pressure, and mysteriously stopped increasing psi on acceleration one day. Mnemonic, how much of the...

I guess I should change my sig, I am running a Probinator ecu chip now. I have a high flow cat that I really can't remember the make of. Thing is, when A-Spec put in my ZE and headers they negleted to re-install a cat. Which I found out a year later when I got my monza exhaust. The rich condition st...
