Pulse generator, what is it for and is it vitile?
I'm fixing up a '93 mx-3 GS, I checked the codes for the transmission and the engine. One of the codes was for the Pulse Generator. I found where it is and how to test it. When I went to go to test it I found that the 3 wires from it had been cut. I spliced them back together and did the tests. The ...

Code 10 (IAT) Tests or Replacement?
I noticed that my engine was idling at about 1200rpms and I haven't been getting as good gas milage. Checked the codes from the engine and it displayed code 10.
Can anyone tell me if I need to totally replace it, or a way to test it before I go and do that?

Re: Transmission Missing Gears
Ok, I've found that the wires to the pulse generator had been cut. I've sliced the possitive wires together and hooked the negative under a bolt on the frame close by. I checked the codes from the transmission again and the only code 62 is displayed. But, I tried to test the circuits for it, and got ...

Re: Transmission Missing Gears
Ok, I've pulled the codes. There are two codes 55(pulse generator), and 62(solenoid valve 3-4). I've been searching around the net trying to find more about what a pulse generator and the solenoid valve actually do and how to go about fixing them. Been searching for a hour or so, and have found ...

Re: Transmission Missing Gears
Yes, I've thought of putting in a transmission cooling system. Because I've read that heat is often the cause of transmission damage.
I was told by a mechanic around where I live (though I live out in the middle of nowhere), that if I was missing any gears at all that if I tried replacing the fluid ...

Re: How to check Automatic Transmission trouble codes (K8 & B6)
Huh, I've tried this before. But, this is different. I was told to jump TEN and GND together (not TAT), and it didn't work. So I thought maybe it was just a myth or something. Works for all MX-3's right?
I hope I didn't f--- something up by doing that. And I also accidently jump GND and +B, and it ...

Transmission Missing Gears
I have a '93 MX-3 GS automatic, I bought it with the tranny already missing gears. The Hold light is blinking, and it seems to skip from 1st to 3rd gear and wont shift up to 4th. Either in never goes in 2nd or it very quickly in and then out to 3rd. I've tried shifling into 2nd (S) with the shifter ...
