I have talked with someone about the swap, he said just swap the sensors... is that possible so I use the sensors from my B6DE engine, and install them on the BP 1 gen ?
then there shoulden't be too much trouble with the wires right ???

Re: B6de->BP swap
I don't like the sound of wiring swap
, I tought you only had to get another speedo cabel, and then splices a wire on the harness, and that was it ?
The engine im getting is the 1989 BP from a Mazda 323F BG1, and the one i have is a 1997 B6DE (OBDII), so the wiring dosen't fit ?

Re: B6de->BP swap
my first guess was it will fit, but then i see in the wikipedia -> 1990-1993 Mazda 323 (European Market), and as it's a 323 the BP engine shouldn't be in the car, but I guess the 323 F BG1 is a Familia GT... we are just using another name for the car here in Denmark i guess :) So I will order the en...

B6de->BP swap
Hello there, im looking for a BP engine for my 1997 mx-3, and have found a couple of engines, the cheapest is from a 1989 Mazda 323 F BG1 (Familia GT i guess? Picture ), the swap guide only includes 1990-> engines on this site, but as I understand the BP engine design is the same on a 1989 BP ? I fo...

Re: Engine Oil Leaking into Exhaust manifold
You could buy a Compression gauge, and test the compression on the engine, they are pretty cheap, I payed 25$ for mine, and I'm from Denmark, so in the states it's properly a lot less :P and it's really easy to test, just disconnect the Distributer and remove all the spark plugs, and screw the gauge...

Re: more power
it was a 83 diesel engine (XUD9) with 650.000Km on it, it did 17-20Km Pr Liter, but when it started to leek air into the fuel, and i tried almost everything to fix it, I sold it and bought my MX-3 ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Problem with temp sensor and battery?
Don't drive with a damaged headgasket, it could/will damage your motor, if the coolant isen't hot, are you sure there is any left in the car ?

Re: Engine Oil Leaking into Exhaust manifold
I don't see why a leaking Valve Cover could get engine oil into the exhaust manifold, a leaking valve cover would just pour the oil out in the engine bay or in the spark plug holes
maybe it's a sticking valve or something ?

Re: pissed off
There is only a 1.6 4cyl engine for the MX-3, if it's a 1.8 4cyl, the engine have been swaped
maybe it's a 1.8 V6 you have ?

Re: What do you shift at?
i shift at 2-3k, and 5k if im "racing" my engine starts to lose power above 5000rpm, but the manual says the maximum power is at 6200rpm, but the engine has done 208.000Km, so it's not new ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

A set of Michelin Alpine A3 is supposed to be the best winter tires here in Denmark (FDM test), don't buy the cheapest tires you can find, they are pure crap
