Re: Heater Core Swap

A PITA. Yeah, I had that part figured out. I was hoping I just had to take apart the console region between the seats, and not remove the dash too. It is a V6, and I was noticing the other day that the cross member underneath prevents you from getting at almost anything from underneath at the backsi...

Heater Core Swap

My 1994 MX3 heater core is leaking coolant, and I am tired of smelling it all the time, and tired of the film of coolant on the windscreen. So it is time to try to replace the core. Has anyone done this? The on-line service manual does not have enough information. It shows the dash parts, and how to...

Re: Wagner Brake pad problem?

Thanks, you were right about the sliders sticking. I finally got back to it. The bolts slid in the sliders, but the sliders did not slide inside the rubber fittings. They sliders did move with a pair of channel locks, so I cleaned 'em up, regreased 'em, put it back together and fit in the new pads. ...

Wagner Brake pad problem?

I got a set of Wagner pads for the front calipers on my V6 1994 MX-3. The rotors are new, replacing old warped rotors. I can't install the pads! :crying: (Rotors were easy) Can anyone help with some advice? I squeezed the piston in to make room, and there is at least 1/4 inch free with the new pad i...

Thanks Josh A friend managed a search that found this set of answers as well, which confirms your comments about the oil passages. But if these passages are for oil return (no pressure) as the thread says, then it seems that using the B6T head gasket should be enough to plug them off. <http>http://w...

The whole assembly is in a Festiva, and the intake off the B6T fits under the hood. Since I wish to swap the head from the B6T onto the MX3 B6D bottom I would use the B6T intake and exhaust manifolds too. So that should make the intake mani work right? But your news about the oil galleys is disappoi...

Probably the hardest thing is disconnecting the exhaust line, so you can pull the pan. All that heat and rust make those bolts nasty.

Mx3 B6D bottom with a 323 GT B6T head?

As the title says, does anyone have experience with mating a 94-96 MX-3 B6D DOHC bottom end with the head, intake and turbo manifold of the 88-89 323 GT DOHC B6T engine? I know the compression differs, with 9 for the B6D and 7.9 for the B6T. Do the other parts mate up properly? Will the higher compr...

Actually I do not get this whole ZX2 strut swap thing, at least not based on Canadian prices. When I replaced the OEM struts with Tokicos I looked at all the threads here on using the ZX2 struts, and the various extra parts one had to buy, such as the bearings for steering, and the slight rear ride ...

The tokico's swap directly in. I replaced mine 2 yeas ago, and it was straightforward. The "steering bearings" were still good so I did not replace them. But they are cheap, if you do not want to have the car on jackstands for a day or so while they come in, should you find they are worn o...

History, you want history! The first time the brakes warped, they were turned by the dealer and warped again in the test drive afterwards. So I got new ones. Two or three years later they were warped again so I got new ones on all four corners, with new pads. Now two years later they are warped agai...

They are quite badly warped. I think it is right front and left rear. In the past, when the dealer turned them and re-installed them they warped again in the first half hour. I was thinking of going after market though.

I was in Calgary on the weekend and looked at Pic N Pull. They had 4 MX3's in, but the bumpers were goner from all of them.

New to the board

Hi to all, I've been trying to sign up to this board for two years, but the darn registration would never go through. I suspect it was the combo of a Mac and antiquated Explorer, but in any event with Firefox I finally got an email back that allowed me to register. So I've been lurking about but nev...

That sounds interesting. If you can take the plastic skin off of the black rails and styrafoam component, then the weight is many times less. At that point shipping might be OK. Let me know if that is feasible.
