Escort GT and Protege distributor WILL work in an MX3 RS
I just got finished wiring up a Escort GT distributor into my RS. The original all-in-one distributor was misfiring bad under heavy load at low rpm. Now she runs like a top. The GT's distributor is optical it looks like. The RS's was magnetic. Either way I bet the output is a square wave for either....

Re: Speed sensor... Which one do I need? Distributor... holes??
I found a sensor from a ~97? 626 automatic that fit my G-series Protege manual and also has the right connector for the mx3. It lasted 8.4 miles. :( I opened it up and whatever was in there, spinning inside the pickup coil, was a big glob of mush. I dunno wtf happened. Maybe when I sprayed off the g...

BF (B6 you guys call it) ECU will run a BP.
I used the BF's injector harness on my BP (EGT) engine and the BF ECU runs it just fine. I had to splice in the IAC connector. I kept the stock EGT injectors. I tried some 280s but the BF ECU couldn't trim out enough fuel. I went back to stock which are 230cc I think. Thought you guys might like to ...

Re: No tranny replaced, but now to the Idle issue.
"Could the car need a new alternator?" No. The a/c sends a signal to the ecu to idle up the engine. Verify this signal makes it to the ecu. Easiest way is unplug the compressor clutch and hit the button. Idle should go up. Make sure the iac passages are clean. Make sure the tps is adjusted...

Re: B6 Turbo Manifold
The B6 and BP are almost the same. The mx3 has a BF. I wound up doing a BP swap. The BP is from an automatic escort gt. Lower compression then manual I hope. BP26 mani and vj22 are on the way. Any idea what psi the 2 can run?

Re: let's band together and make a REAL BP swap guide (no BS)!
I got my BP swap finished tonight. The BF ecu and maf is running it just fine. =) I used the BF's injector harness and had to swap the temp sensor from the BF to the BP, because the plug was different, and spliced the IAC connector from the BP harness onto my BF harness. That plug is different as we...
