He's not talking about in a straight line. Those 3000GTs are horrible in the twisties, I would never buy one. But for $1500 you can't go wrong, if I was you I'd fix it and re-sell it for a lot more money than I put into it.

Just buy a DE, boost it to 15psi on stock internals and when it blows up just buy another one. They're so cheap it doesnt really matter. Or buy two and build one on the side while you work on blowing the stock one up.

I regularly auto-x my FD but its getting alittle too powerful for its tires, gotta upgrade next season.
