Re: Timing belt troubles
Just did this last weekend. I fought setting up the timing marks for what felt like forever, and then it all just lined up and went together perfect. What helped me was getting something to clamp the belt in place on the exhaust cam gear before trying to get the intake lined up and the belt around ...

Re: A night with the HIDs....
Okay, sorry for the tone of the reply, andrewlcraft. That is good information. I was told that they should converge at 30 ft. (I think), so that's what I did. It seemed to make sense, since it dips down in the middle, where it keep from blinding the cars ahead's side mirrors.

Re: A night with the HIDs....
Since some people took offense at me trying to link the entire 7 page thread of information and debate, I'll repost the diagram I mentioned here to get you guys started:
I came up with this diagram a while back. The others agreed it was accurate as a guide. The only value that may vary includes ...

Re: A night with the HIDs....
Well #1, I honestly didn't know you'd have to sign up to view the thread. I was trying to share the correct information with the forum, that's why I posted the link. It includes diagrams about aiming projectors that evidently is needed here, and thought people would benefit from reading through it ...

You could put an eye out with those things!
Now, you just need to adjust them so the notch lines up.
In picture #6, those 2 parts that look like steps need to converge.

Re: Spyder/ carpart4u write-up NOW with HID!
Honestly, highbeams look like a candlelight compared to the HID.
Is anyone converting the highbeams as well?
The bad part about a seperate HID bulb as your highbeam is the slow warm up time, and it's hard on the bulbs to be turned on and off a lot. I'd look into finding some really good halogen ...

Re: Spyder/ carpart4u write-up NOW with HID!
Naw, my van is 9005/9006.
I was kinda wondering about how legal it'd be. Do cars with factory HIDs and separate highs leave the HIDs on with the High beam?
The bulk of factory HID's are projector based, and they physically move the cutoff shield with a solenoid to let more light through and ...

Re: Spyder/ carpart4u write-up NOW with HID!
You're welcome. They look AWESOME with your setup! Everything's just a hint of blue.
I just got my 2nd set, and can't wait to make projector/ halo foglights out of the Civic set!
Thank you, andrewlcraft for the schematic! I'm going to try that, too.
YES! Thanks! I knew it was simple but I ...

Re: Spyder/ carpart4u write-up NOW with HID!
There seems to be a lot of confusion about how to keep the high beams on with the lows. It's the same concept whether you're talking about keeping the halogen highs on with the HID low on these new projectors, or if you're wiring up a bi-xenon solenoid in an OEM projector retrofit. Hell, with stock ...

Re: Spyder/ carpart4u write-up NOW with HID!
Would you be able to install other bulbs with this kit? Such as a Philips D2S xenon bulb?
Not an OEM D2S bulb, no. These use an H1 bulb, I believe, so you have to use an HID kit with rebased bulbs to fit the projector. These are halogen projectors that you are putting an HID kit into, and are ...

Not without somebody modifying the system. It's easy enough to add a relay to keep the lows on with the highs.jeffv1 wrote:On mine they does stay on.colinsmx3 wrote:actually they don't stay on... they turn off and just the high's come on.......

Also:
Those are the lights that came in them. I haven't put in the HIDs, yet.
I need to know how to adjust them (something like 6 feet high on a wall 30 feet away, for example).
