[quote="MX3ak"]About the coolant temp sensor, there are at least two of them in the car, but I think there are three...
These are:
Two near the filler neck - Gauge sensor and Fans sensor (both have 2 wires)
One behind the other two that only has one wire. I think that's the one for the ECU.[/quote ...

Few questions about sensors..

Hi everyone,

Just been working on fixing my friends 1997 Eunos 30x (V6), and have spent the day trying to get it running properly. I have discovered that the coolant temperature sensor seems to have really low resistance all the time (at operating temp it is way off from what is said in the online ...

Hi

I'm having this same problem too with a 1997 1.8L v6 eunos 30x - although it seems to mainly happen when cold. When I start the car in the mornings it revs up to about 1200rpm, then gradually increases up to over 2000rpm in park. It got up to about 2500rpm this morning! As soon as I put it into ...

Thanks for the good info :D

After driving the car today I'm starting to think it shouldn't take all that much to get it running properly again. It is running quite nicely - especially at higher RPM (despite it changing gears at really wrong times!)Definitely the O2 sensors need replacing no doubt ...

Sorry... I forgot about the year of the car... the one thing I always forget to say in my posts lol

Anyways, it's a 1997 Eunos 30x 1.8L V6, which has done 260,000km. I'm in Australia, and I have no idea if it's OBDII or not.

What I know has been done on the car:

New timing belt done at 230,000km ...

How can I check if it's ODBII? Is it just the connector for the ECU diagnostics that gives it away, or is there another way?

Thanks for the replies

Is the car an auto or manual shift?

It is an auto transmission, and seems to change at really strange points. I'm not sure if it's an ODBII type yet... will have to check that maybe tonight if I have time.

It recently had some general maintenance done on it by mechanics ...

Thanks for the reply :)

Yes I am from Australia, and so far I am finding these cars are incredibly hard to find parts for... there are many places that have no idea what the car is! No matter though, as I am nearby to shops that can source any parts usually hehe. Plus I did see some at the wreckers ...

Eunos 30x common issues

Hi everyone,

I was just browsing the net for some info on a Eunos 30x, and came across this great site. Seems to be one of very few that is active with good information =D

Anyways... A good friend of mine has just gone overseas for a few weeks, and left me her car to look after for the time she is ...
