I'm having a very similar problem.. Except it happens almost all the time now hill or no hill.. I have another car so I havn't really had the chance to look at it, but when I push on the gas it revs up and then just sputters and I can hear the air intake backfire occasionally.

Mine doesn't work either, I havn't looked too hard into the problem, I did check the fuses and they were ok, check to see if any current was getting to the wires in the back and there wasn't any, so I'm pretty sure the button/switch is toast.. but I could be wrong.

How much for the rear defroster switch??

I'm 20 min's away right now, but I have to work all weekend.. #*$@!

I'll be very interested in about a months time if this deal is still floating around as I should be making more money then; what are prices to be after this deal is done?

A friend of mine had that start to happen on his car.. all it turned out to be was that the oil level was very very low. You might want to try checking that.. but then most people are check oil fairly often, so that may not be it.
