Yeah it's a real blaze red V6 as far as I can tell. The engine has enough km on it to be original :) And the paint looks original. Thanks for the constructive criticism! :) I was trying to make it different by making it real simple, something even the old pharts could use. But what would you like to...

My new car rating website - hit it MX3rs!
Hey all, ** warning: blatant plug ;) ** I'm messing around with a car rating site, like Hot or Not but without all the extra fluff - keeping it simple, learning Joomla. Go to http://www.rodorrat.com/ I've got my car up on it - as well as some past cars (my TVR) and some random cars from shows. Pleas...

Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you, thank you all. I've ordered up one of those Integra GSR cold air intakes mentioned elsewhere in the forums and that should do the trick. I was meaning to clean it up anyhow. I'll try not to ignore the mx-3.com gods in the future :) seriously, I do a search on something and it tur...

Anybody in Victoria or shops in Vancouver?
I'm in Victoria, travelling to Vancouver soon. But I've been having some problems with my new MX-3 that I'm not sure I'm up to solving. Wondering a) anybody here in Victoria or b) any reputable MX-3 friendly shops in Victoria? And also c) any good places to go in Van for JDM/interesting stuff? I'm d...

96 V6 brake replacement trials
A recent inspection showed that I was down to about 10% on my pads, so I decided to do front and back this weekend. Jacked the car up, got everything ready, got the old pads out and then s**t. Reading on this forum it looks like my calipers/rotors are seized. On the front, at least, I can't fit the ...

Dying on idle - sporadic
First MX-3, enjoying, but: Car dies on idle every now and again, usually after I've been driving for awhile and I go to park it. If I start it up again and give it a little throttle it seems fine. It's a V6, and has had two other owners. It seems to have had proper maintenance (according to dealer r...

OBD I and back to square one!
So here's the latest story: 1) the car does indeed have OBD I. So I lucked out! hah. 2) diagnostic, however, doesn't show any codes - hmmm. 3) reset computer and after about 10km/20 minutes CEL comes on again - crap. 4) Mazda dealer says it "might" be a stuck EGR valve. Any hints on where ...

Thanks mate, its an OBD 1 - DIAGNOSIS box under the hood.
I'll try the tricks mentioned in the FAQ and post back if the codes don't make sense, hope its not a big deal
Cheers,
Jason

OBD vs. OBD 2 and location on car
Thanks, that's awesome. To complicate things, the car was manufactured in December 1995. It's a Canadian model. Is it still OBD 2? I did a quick check but can't find the connector in an obvious place. Where should I look for the connector? Is it just an open connector? OBD 2 will be 16 pins, correct...

Newb owner with '96, engine electronics light question!
First time owner here and loving it. Just got a '96 V6 in blaze red. Car has high-ish mileage (almost 210k) and seems to be burning a little oil, but everything is clean, fluids are good, drives tight, and it seems to be well taken care of. However, I'm getting the engine electronics light (ie. chec...
