high pass filters??
ok, I have a little project for college, I need to produce a High Pass filter with the -3dB point at 10kHz, which i've done, however the roll off has to be -12dBs/octave. I dont know how to get the roll off from -3dBs to -12dBs? I was hoping that somebody here in the Stereo section would be able to ...

Re: Rear caliper issue....
the inside pad is unevenly worn, like on an angle, I can only assume I fitted it wrong. Only about 10% of the pad was making contact with the disc. I've ordered a new set, I hope it cures the problem, as pads are a lot cheaper than a new caliper! I tried to pull one apart when I changed the calipers...

Rear caliper issue....
My rear caliper won't hold the wheel with the pedal pressed, but the hand brake holds it just fine. I tried to bleed it, but got no air out of it. The piston winds in and out ok too.
Anything I'm missing here? It's a relatively new caliper, I'd say maybe 2years old, with braided lines.

Re: took apart my IM today...
If you block the egr that makes it run rich right? Like you say about the air filter, it makes port and polish seem a bit pointless too then right or does the crap not stick as much if it's polished? Can you expand on VRIS? I take it it's some sort of system that at full throttle or something opens ...

took apart my IM today...
right so I stripped the vacuum hoses off as one piece with the fuel rail, then split the IM. I've never slipt the IM before and I was wondering why there is a vacuum system, then I saw the four butterfly valves that are controled by the vacuum system. Whats the reason for the butterfly valves, looks...

Re: pulling out the motor only?
do it all at once. No point going half-a$$ on this. One or 2 hard shifts and you'll need a new tranny. Do you want to do it once or twice? excuse my ignorance, what do you mean 'hard shift'?? also how do you go about putting the engine on the engine stand? just from looking at it today, I'd probabl...

pulling out the motor only?
Is there a reason not many people pull only the motor when they do a swap or rebuild? I only ask since I am going to do a swap, but just the motor not the trans, will I run into major difficulties when i pull it or replace?

Re: opinions/advise please
thanks, just read through that tread, they both make sense, should i try both ways?? or stick to one, im thinking the etch primer route might be better to 'seal' the metal?? although from what I've heard primer is not waterproof.
