junkyards and bulletin boards is where you'll find it.
NAPA was almost correct as some makes have a two piece halfshaft. the actual halfshaft comes with the cv axle, and bolts to the other half of the mounting bracket that's attatched to the motor. my nissan altima was like this.

yeah, i think i covered that.Originally posted by OsoSlo z28:
this way you can keep your wiring and use a piggy-back system. the only problem with this is you are limited on tuning ability.

Re: Compression ratio for turbos
if you were to get aftermarkt valves, stainless is the best choice IMO. sodium filled valves are good to a certain point, but i'd take stainless over them anyday.

Re: Turbo DOHC vs. B6t
you only need new axles/jack-shaft if you go with the pro lx tranny. there is no "cheap" route. you can rebuild your b6 and put on the b6t setup, or get a custom setup. this way you can keep your wiring and use a piggy-back system. the only problem with this is you are limited on tuning ab...

Re: Which Option to take?
IMO, why spend money on an n/a build-up? these motors don't produce impressive numbers n/a. i'd probably go with a rebuild and turbo it. you also have to look at how you're going to tune it.

Re: SAFC II vs. GTX ECU
sounds like the guy that had the haltech didn't know what he was doing (or whoever put it in). if it was properly tuned it should have put out a good deal more than a s-afc setting or at the least, been a lot smoother. especially if you say it killed his motor, operator error, not the system.

Re: i've got fuel and spark but not start.....?
for a lean condition to kill a motor at idle is highly unlikely.
you said you checked the plug wires and coil. what about the disty cap? what all did you mess with since the last time it ran?

Re: B6 question
if you don't have a substantial increase of air coming into the motor, it would run like crap.

i'll also chime in that a stand alone is easier to intall, as well as being 10x better than the stock bpt setup.

Re: B6 question
it's a difference of 200cc. you have a completely different engine that has different needs than a bp motor. the bp has a different pulse width along with a different size injector and is not a good thing on a stock b6 motor. (intake/exhaust is still stock) the only time you see a benefit from using...

Re: Fuel Injectors??
agreed, unless you're getting a highly increased amount of air into the engine, as well as out, you have no need for bigger injectors, of either type. extensive internal work and/or a turbo or s/c setup would warrant a bigger injector. I was using a Haltech E6K, now E6X, and was a good option over t...

that sensor is for cruise control on cars that use a cable speedo gear.

Re: Fuel Injectors??
saturated is high impedance (resistance), and p/h injectors are low impedance. MOST cars use saturated injectors, while a few turbo model cars use p/h. basicly, whatever type your car is setup for is what you should use. this can be determined by taking a resistance reading of the injector. generall...

Re: BP strengths/weakness
the bp head flows excellent. some say to use a 99 miata, but it's too much of a hassle to me with rerouting coolant passages/lines. a pro lx/egt with a good port/polish along with a nice set of stainless valves and good springs will give you a bulletproof setup with excellent flow numbers. if you ge...
