Re: mx3 parts for sything off my mx3

Do the front and rear bumpers have a lip? (Not that important) I might be interested in the front and rear bumper, the drivers side tail light, the bumper reinforcement(honeycomb) and the black wide piece that the lights screw to in the back. give me a price(I never get on here) send me an e-mail ...

Re: Average gas mileage

If I drive like an madman it's about 170 miles a tank, city driving about 260-270 300 or better on trip
I've never seen the gas light because I don't really let it get below a 1/4 tank
what is the fuel capacity for the MX-3 anyway? (I have a 95 RS auto DOHC)

Re: Plugs - Arcing?

If it dies like you say at stop lights, like you hit the gas and it goes sput sput sput than eventually comes back to normal I would check out the distributor(I had to replace mine and that's exactly what it did) I would do this to check it out put a timing light oneach individual wire, start the ...

Re: HELP!!!! Valve Cover Gasket Help please everyone.

right on with the O-ring renef. I also don't have the SOHC so things are a little different I'm sure. When I did my timing belt though I replaced the gasket on my DOHC and had leaks around the cam gears and the distributor. After looking in my book(the same as the online one) it said to go ahead and ...

Re: PROPER BELT REMOVAL

I'm quite positive there is a tensioner on the Alternator(the long skinny bolt). As I recall it faces the firewall. It looks just like the front one and has either 1 or 2 lockdown bolts just like the front. The big problem with adjusting this thing is that you need to loosen the big bolt that is at ...

Re: CV Joints

I've never priced them but who know's you can probably get each side for under $100 (aftermarket)I'm guessing, I've done alot of work to my cars and my families and fiiguring that this is a rare car that's about the ballpark If you need to go with MAZDA they are going to be considerably much more 3x ...

Re: MX-3 FOR SALE

Ofcourse I wouldn't replace the engine in that old thing I was in a different part of the state and it was all together by the time I visited him. I never would have bought the car for SURE. I've never had a 89-91 Eldo maybe there better ;)

Re: Hey! Can ya'll answer a question? :)

You'd do good to get an MX-3, there reliable and attractive and a ball to drive. I've only put 25,000 on mine but what great miles they've been. There the perfect car to put a sound sytem in, and an awesome car to pick up a date.

Re: CV Joints

CV joints are a real easy thing to do. It' sounds like you are in Auto Tech shop in School is that right? Even if you're not in Auto class instead of paying someone to do it just buy the parts for much less and do it yourself. The one thing you will need to do is torque everything correctly when ...

Re: MX-3 FOR SALE

Yeah great deal on the Eldo if you wanna drive one of those. My dad bought one a few years back in good shape and was parked inside. The damn aluminum block on these things are another story, his already had the second motor in it when he got it for $400(it was actually put in quite well) and it ...

Re: HELP!!!! Valve Cover Gasket Help please everyone.

I've seen you post this a bunch of times what is the problem? Here is Exactly what you do(how about a good rating for it?) You have a DOHC 4cyl(forgot the year) Take the valve cover off and clean every spec of the mating area. Any residual gasket sealer(there should probably be some around the ...

Re: PROPER BELT REMOVAL

BTW it is a horrible pain in the a-- job, don't feel bad about bringing it to someone for $80 also the timimng belt marks are extremely close, be sure (if you pay someone to do it) that the car runs perfectly when you get it back. make sure if you change it yourself you get the belt deflection right ...

Re: PROPER BELT REMOVAL

The mechanic doing it that quick probably just stretched the hell out of it(it is after all your car and not his) I've don the timing belt on my car(therefore taken the belts off) There are some pictures as I recall in the online shop manual. It's really Identical to any 4 cyl import. It's got the ...
