Oh and by the way don't change the oil first just drain it and fill again when done. If you change it first you'll lose it all again when you take the cover off.

The shift fork was 36 bucks canadian. It can be changed with tranny in the car. If its like the mx-3 trans you just pull the left front wheel and splash shield. At the end of the transmission there is a bolted on cover. Under this cover is your 5th and reverse gears. I would check there for a damaged fork or something. I just repaired the fork on mine as it was popping out of fifth.

What engine?

I have a 92 MX-3 1.8 5 spd. It has 230k and the motor is starting to use a lot of oil. Valve seals I think. Anyway other than putting in a stock 1.8 what is a good motor to "drop in". I need to be able to do this in a weekend without a lot of extra parts or fabbing stuff. I read about a ma...
