Re: Wow this forum has really died down lately...

I joined the facebook group... I don't get why people prefer that non directional mess. When I first joined in the 2000s I remember this place being fairly busy so it's weird to see it pretty much dead. Even dead the forum manages to answer most questions I have through the search function.

Re: leather around gear shifter

If that fails ask someone you know that sews. My wife saw an extra I had lying around and said it wouldn't be a hard thing to make.

Re: 93 Mazda 1.6l 5-speed base model swap tires

15 in tires and rims are stock on the GS. If you get new tires and rims the tire store will have the calculations as to what you can put on, if you're trying for junkyard sets look on some websites to find out the stock size the GS takes then look for that at the wrecking yard. I've personally had 1...

Re: My 1st GS Mx-3

I happened to see a picture online of a close-up of the ford probe heater hose. Everything is set up the same in that spot but they have a nifty pre-formed bend. I might pick that up in case I run into problems at some point or want to clean up the look.

Re: My 1st GS Mx-3

I'm not much of a fan of facebook which is why I would avoid going their. So this weekend I did half my valve cover gaskets and swapped out the K8 intake manifold for the klde manifold. I did this so the VRIS points would match without having to use separate items to make them work. After installati...

[Free]K motor

I doubt anyone will want this and I'm only doing it locally but my car came with it's original k motor and I'm sick of looking at it. The guy I bought the car from said it was good but leaking out the rear main. Anyway, it's also posted on craigslist for free so pm me quick if you want it and can pi...

Re: My 1st GS Mx-3

I continue my updates on things that are boring! This exciting update is my leaky oil pan gasket which I will mostly just illustrate with pictures. By the way, this was a few months ago and no leaks yet. https://photos.app.goo.gl/aX2MaoHkLmBnhEEl2 And I have a couple of photos of my future project w...

Re: My 1st GS Mx-3

So, I'm now getting 19mpg city in the winter with having to warm the car up occasionally so I can see out the window. The idle is consistent though I still wish I could make it slightly smoother. Maybe fuel injection cleaner, but probably good to just be at piece with a 27 year old car. I'm having t...

Re: My 1st GS Mx-3

It was more than just dying at idle. It was also a poor idle all the time, the occasional cel, surging(similar to if your intake had tube had a crack), and kind of a twitchy throttle. An example of the issues would be I was trying to accelerate quick and ended up spinning the tires and when I put it...

Re: My 1st GS Mx-3

A quick update. My car was running alright with good temperatures but when it got cold started idling rougher and surging when 1st started. I tried adjusting everything and ended up with a car that stalled when it stopped so I had to bump the idle screw up so it would not die at a stop light. There ...

Re: key hole light

Ignore the clear plastic ring description, I realized this morning when I got in my car that I got my rav4 and mx3 mixed up. As for the timer thing what I meant was that because your dome light is working correctly that it might make sense that theirs either a timer or a relay that is not functionin...
