Re: [FS] KLZE, KL31, Half Leather/Alcantara Interior + Breaking

I honestly don't beleive this is the same person. Wilko has been on UK-MX3 forums forever, had a sweet mx3 that got rusty in the back and is now selling the parts.

Re: Valve Stem Seal Colour

Thought I'd add this for others who may come across this. I checked the workshop manual. It says intake is grey and exhaust is green.. So I went with what I said before: grey = intake brown = exhaust I also noticed the brown (exhaust) is a tighter fit, which figures :) **edit - just got word back fr...

Valve Stem Seal Colour

I'm rebuilding my heads and see there are 2 colours of viton valve stem seal, brown and black. I'm not sure which is intake or exhaust. Brown Exhaust Black Intake or vice versa? I've seached google and here of course even with spelling colour wrongly :P (color) Not sure if there is a standard or if ...

Re: Question about tail lights

those tail lights must have a separate diffuser inside, I'm pretty sure ours one piece with the diffuser built in to the external plastic. I guess you could try and sand down all the ridges... but will probably be and look like a mess

Re: #6 oil jet porting?

Some probetalk guys shimmed their oil pump pressure release, so the oil has higher pressure all round. The 6th does apparently get a bit starved by comparison but sufficient and quality oil should see you right. Personally I haven't decided on whether to shim or not...

Re: Port & Polish = Flow Bench?

meh well I was bored waiting for parts to arrived so I went ahead and knife edged intake ports, removed intake casting lines, smooth inside transition. On the exhaust side I removed the cast lines, smoothed the machining into the cast and semi polished it. I expect FA gain really, but there was alot...

Re: Port & Polish = Flow Bench?

perhaps he means the gains from a safe level of skimming (keeping it non-interference) would be negligible?

Re: 75lb/195lb intake springs/OEM exhaust springs?

Just the standard OEM Euro spec, which I believe is the same as US, with the OEM lip on it. Kinda looks smoothed in on the picture, but its not! Though it is on my other mx :D

5. I used windscreen adhesive, it has a shore A durometer of 70+-, not as hard as aftermarket built mounts or the mcmaster carr stuff like solo ryder is selling on here which is 80 or 90a. However it's alot harder than the air you currently have ;)

Re: high rpms on my ZE?

I think you can swap the 5th gear set with the 626 set, or it the final drive, or is all of them- search will have the answer! But I think it only drops it a few hundred (nothing drastic). I agree though, I'd love a 6th gear for highway driving. Good luck and make me one ;)

Re: 75lb/195lb intake springs/OEM exhaust springs?

I asked Alistair at Interprep about doing just this with their springs etc. He advised against it, he didn't state why, but I was easily persuaded :) I decided to do them all and do it right, so I can be all high revving happy

Re: I got the AST coilovers.

Excellent, someone finally bought them :) Let us know of course how they hold up on the track. I'm all for blowing lots of money on MX3s :D I'll have spent £2000 easy on my project car before I'm done, but most of my friends spend three times that amount on fiat puntos, 1litre micras and the like.
