Re: idea for driver door window switch- will it work?

Thanks for the ideas and the wiring diagram. I've retried gluing with super glue and the "glob" method of gluing. It's held for a coupe test runs. Maybe it'll work for a year or so. If not, i'll fall back in the wiring diagram and put in a separate switch.

Drivers door switch - wires to tap into for remote toggle sw

Well - tried to super glue mine, but it broke again w/in a few days. I'm thinking of just soldering a couple wires to the switch and running to a seperate toggle switch. Both the driver and pass window switches are broken on the master switch (but the pass side arm rest switch still works the pass w...

how to add trans fluid to manual trans?

I need to change the trans fluid on my 4 cyl 5 speed manual trans 93 mx3. Every car i've done this on in the past has a fill hole big enough to stick your finger in to check the fluid level. From looking at the pics in the manual, the fill and check hole appears to be pretty darn small. How do you f...

manual tranny additive?

I've got a 93 mx3 with 191k miles. It's starting to get a little notchy when shifting through the gears (manual 5 speed trans). I'm giving the car to my niece, in hopes she'll get a year or two out of the car. I'm about to change the manual trans fluid and put in some 80w, and have some molybdenum a...

Re: idea to raise the idle

Umcamara - I don't recall if I tried this or not. Where is the idle adjustment screw? Is it where the throttle cable meets the throttle body? If you adjust this, will the computer override the adjustment?

Thx

idea to raise the idle

The idle on my gf's 93 mx3 with 190k on it gets REAL low at times - especially when it's hot outside, just got off the freeway, and come to a stop sign. Car shakes and almost stalls. I've tried cleaning throttle body, running cleaner through the gas, putting sea foam into the throttle body, changing...

idea for driver door window switch- will it work?

Hey everyone, as usual, my driver door window switch broke. I bought a used one from a guy parting a car on this site and it failed after less then a year- no surprise, since they are all 10+ years old by now. This car has 200k on it, and i'm giving it to my neice, so I don't wanna spend much money ...

Re: old school amp question

Thanks for the link to the manual. I wired the old Rockford Fosgate amp up to the sub and it sounds great now! Thanks!

I think you are right about "bridging" the channels to the sub, but i didn't find any type of low pass filter between the head unit and the sub - go figure.

Thanks

old school amp question

Hey Stereo gurus - My girlfriend had a 7 year old pioneer headunit. She got a 12" sub box put in the back by a shop about 3 years ago. Fast forward to now - the pioneer dies and i replace it with a $100 jvc unit. She thought they installed an amp with the sub, but I can't find it. The wiring wa...

elect window stopped working

Drivers electric window on 93 mx-3 stopped working. At first, it would work intermittently - pulling up and back on the switch seemed to help. Then it stopped completely (of course, when out of town at a hotel). I took apart the switch and messed with it for awhile and it finally went back up. Now I...

body work question

Someone pulled a hit and run on my girlfriends 93 mx-3. They hit the fender over the rt rear tire. It's not a clean dent, so won't come out with a plunger. I'm trying to pop most of it out, and getting creative. If I can put a motorcycle innertube in the space between the dent and a body panel, mayb...

Re: timing on a 1.6 sohc

Ya, I took the jumper out. Just drove the car about 100 miles - it's a little less powerful and seems to stumble when i accelerate in 4th or 5th from mid rpm range. Still pulls nicely on top. I wonder if the old disty had it running lean somehow, and that gave me extra power. Not sure how a disty wo...

timing on a 1.6 sohc

I replaced the disty on the 93 mx-3 to clear the 03 crank sensor code and it worked! Immediately set timing to 10 degrees (with ten/grd jumped) and ran the car to the smog shop. The car passed smog (yeah!) but now it seems to be a little low on power. I didn't check the timing before I pulled the ol...
