Hey guys I have a 94 rs dohc and I am planning on doing a pb swap. I have done a swap before on my friends crx (first gen) and it was fairly simple. UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!


The problem with my idle was solved with a new oxygen sensor. Not exactly cheap but I dont care cuz my car is fun to drive again!!!!!!!!

MechaMan dood, all i need for the swap then is the 95 bp engine, ecu and tranny (I know my tranny will bolt up but I want the stronger protege)what about the drive shafts? Do i need the protege ones? Or do I keep my own. Thanks man!

Man...now I am confused, I have a 94 1.6 DOHC does that mean I need the 95-98 bp..right? What do you mean by harder to wire? If I get the ecu from the donor protege would I avoid that problem?

I guess I should mention that the check engine light comes on also...I would love to replace everything suggested on this forum but I am on a budget. So what should I do??? Alternator? TPS? Idle air control valve? Please help.

OK, I have changed the plugs (the wires were changed by the previous owner) used fuel injecter cleaner and cleaned the air intake manifold.... Yet the problem hasnt been solved. It still idles like crap dropping to 200 rpm...I am getting frustraded by this problem...Oh well, I guess I'll have to cha...

Hey guys!! I got my mx3 a week ago. I was wondering if anyody installed the Eibach Pro kit lowering springs? Hey all! Just bought my mx3 a week ago. Its a 94 blaze red 1.6 DOHC with a 158,000k. I seem to have an idling problem, it idles really low sometimes (bouncing between 200 and 600 rpm) and sometimes dies completly. It seems to be running fine while driving in gear.
