Interesting, so the tranny is not integrated in to the ecu. That is defiantly good news that the harness doesn't have to be swapped. So i guess there is no wires running from the 5spd to the ecu is there? and I can just discard the atx harness. This is some very good info!

Tunes, as always you are here with good advice! I do have a digi cam so I am ahead of the game there lol. From what i understand so far (correct me if I am wrong) *Not in this order* I will need to attach the tranny to the b6 in the new car(duh!) Run the linkage and stick. swap pedals and run the cl...

Guys I need your input

It's time to decide what I wanna do. I have 2 mx's a 95 (crashed) and a 94 just paid for waiting for it to get shipped. The only problem is the 94 is atx and has 300k on it. My options are: 1. Use the 94 as a part car for the body and fix my 95 (got a reasonable quote) 2. Swap 95 b6 and tranny into ...

There is a number of engines that can be installed while using your existing mounts they are:

BP from ford escort or 90-94 protege

BPT Jdm 323 (turbo)

B6T 1.6 of a capri or 323 gtx US (turbo)

Your transmission will bolt up to any of these without modification

b6t vs gtx turbo mani

*I have searched lol* Is there any difference in the manifolds? besides the fact they come off different engines? what turbo does the b6t come with? How much psi can the stock b6t tutbo handle? I am planning on rebuilding my bottom end (dohc b6) with the b6t internals and then using my top end, but ...

Boris the engine in that thread you linked to is a rebuilt b6t. i am just making a note of that because the b6t has beefier rods and a lower compresion pistons. I am thinking of boosting the b6 and there is no way I would just slap a turbo on it, at 160k I would at least change the piston rings and ...

It wouldnt be very hard with a donor car, the wiring harness would have to be swaped also. It would be easier to swap a bp in and use the tranny from your current car if its in better shape. BPs can be had for cheap and will save you the trouble of swaping a harnes.

well the reason i want to raise the rev limiter is because it makes its peak horsepower at 6300 rpms stock, with the cold air intake, gutted cat and muffler the power band would be moved to a higher rpm range. especially once i get the headers and miata cams installed. but even without those two my...

Boris look at his first post in this thread, I am pretty sure he's got the sohc... Boris can further explain what the benifits of having the protege ecy can be as he has one in his mx.
