Re: My New Ride 6I!
My dad is considering a v6 one of those as a replacement for his buick but is concerned it will be slow (his buick is a v8 so...).

Re: 4 cylinder swap>V6
What about simply turboing your current motor or getting a bpt and have more tq than a klze?

Re: emissions test question?
You can do the hot rod status but idk if that might get back to your insurance company..
I got my bpt swap tested as a stock b6 (ie according to b6 standards) and passed easily. You might be fine doing the same test it as a gs mx3 and see what happens.

Re: Ricer VS Tuner - The Final Frontier
Does this mean the full size trucks that are lifted, with glue on scoops, chrome everything, aftermarket lights.... are "ricers" I know a few guys that do that kinda stuff that do it because the "taller, wider, shiner and brighter your truck the bigger your penis". They laugh at ...

Re: Engine cutting out in turns
Read about a reason on feoa. Whenever bg chassis cars pull near or over 1g in turns this happens if they have 1/2 tank or less. I guess the engineers didn't think the car would ever see those forces.
The problem is alleviated with 3/4 tank or more, woo for a stupidly grippy car!

Re: rebuilt ranny for drag
Yep its all in how you drive it and the trans gears aren't the problem. I run a b6 or f treans with my bpt boosting 15 psi with many other mods and it holds up fine for years. I use a stage 1 (230ftlb) act kit for the b6 it slips a little on certain days but that and gl5 or higher trans fluids are k...

Re: ACT clutch is crap
I have an act clutch rated for 230ft/lbs, it slipped a tiny bit for the 1st while but only at 15psi on my bpt now it grips (and that's a tiny f trans clutch!). Clutches are like brakes they need to bed in.
BTW my act disk said act, exedy is oem.

Re: troubles installing timing belt on 1.6 dohc
It's easiest I find to align the cams get the belt on them then adjust the crank last and get the belt on it. I spent 30 min doing a timing belt install using this procedure, they are rarely easy.

Re: Engine cutting out in turns
Just put in a new high flow pump with the factory strainer (it did this before the new pump as well), just had it open and its clean. So electrical eh? I know its not the pump connector that bad boy is on super tight but maybe something in the engine bay.....

Re: troubles installing timing belt on 1.6 dohc
^^ thats basicly how its done on a bp so I'd think it would work that way on a b6.

Re: New Muffler
I have a magnaflow turbo muffler and 2.5" piping but I've got a bpt. It's loud but not fart can-ish at low rpm and goes almost silent when I'm boosting (sounds more like a big sport bike engine without boost). This is with a high flow cat and no resonator.
