Late to the party again.... it sounds like either a vacuum leak, tps sensor, or if you have the DOHC b6 it could be the internal ignition module in the distributor....those things like to fry themselves and they act all screwy when they do.

Sounds like your water pump. Higher RPMs=More flow. The B6 series engine seems to be "overcooled"... I'm guessing because it was originally boosted and that caused excess heat. Maybe its time to do a water pump/timing belt replacement? New parts never hurt.

I know I'm a little late to the party here...but it looks like most everyone has evacuated the site. I notice in your sig that you have a b6... those are NOTORIOUS for having IAC issues... most of us just unplugged the damn thing when it started causing issues. You'll find that the "vics" ...

Sold him some miata cams. He told me it'd be a while before he could pay, what a man of his word! Seriously though, he is great to deal with.
