Re: Winter around corner. What tires?
If you leave "V" rated tires on the back, or summer only tires, then your car will fishtail like a rear driver. But with all seasons you really have to crank it hard to get the car sideways. Im sticking to snows in the front and all seasons in the rear, until that sale comes up.

Re: Poll: your next car
The Mx3 will never die.
Id say a nice comfortable car with style.
Have you seen the new Jag X Type? 3.0L V6 AWD!! And it has the famous hood leaper. I'd look like i was the guy from the show "the equalizer". It would look nice parked next to the MX3.

Re: Winter around corner. What tires?
Dont laugh but have you checked out canadian tire? Their Nordic Icetrac 195/60/15 are about $90 a tire. But wait there is more: they sometimes have a "second tire 1/2 price" sale every year but you have to wait for it. Thats what i did. Before I had Michelins, more expensive but crappy in ...

Re: Timing belt question.
If you went to a Mazda dealer expect to pay large. If you are in the Toronto area call A-Spec, they have a link in here somewhere. I know they do it cheap but good.

Re: Quick questions:
195/60/15. Thats what i run for winters. You might notice a little more flex in the tire because of its narrower track but its only 1cm. Canadian Tire sells good winters called the Nordic Icetracks. Ive found them to be better than even Michelin Arctic Alpins whick cost $40 more a tire.

Re: bigger brakes from aspec
Thats only if you have an RS, the brakes are meant to stop a 4 cyl. If you have a GS there isnt any concern because they are beefed up.

Re: Legacy amps & subs
I had a Legacy 1200watt (2x600) and they are pretty good for the price. There is a guy in Mississauga who sells them for dirt cheap.I think i paid 250 for it. I was running a 15 JBL sub with it until one night i came home and noticed wires hanging out of my trunk. Then i noticed the passenger window...

Re: Highly recomend 2.5L swap
Eric you dumbass. Shut up Red!! sorry
In a junkyard you will only find the klo3, nothing wrong with it. Look for it in v6 626's, probes, mx-6's, and MPV's. The KLZE comes from Japan special order.
I'd still recommend the KLO3, its a solid engine and you wont go crazy looking for a KLZE.

Re: A-Spec Short Shift Kit
I would recommend it, they know what they are doing there. I had a 2.5L and 5 speed swap done there. Tell them Art reffered you to A-spec and they might give you a deal if you spread the word about them.

Re: $ 5,000 to spend
MARLON, check out the post "highly recomend 2.5L swap" in the V6 forum.
Since you have a 4 cyl it might cost a little more for the engin swap. Id say around $3,000 can, but dont quote me. Check out A-Spec's web site in the links section.
$2,000 canadian should get you a turbo install...

Hello mx-ers!
I am just putting up this post to tell you to save your money for all engine mods and get the 2.5L swap done. What a difference.
Burn out of first, smoke it into second and hell, why dont we skwak it in 3rd while we are at it? It has oodles of power at every
gear but drives l...
