strange over steer
strange over steer
I've been noticing some kind of scary over steer lately. The last mod I did that could affect handling is a front strut tower brace. Has anyone noticed this with a front STB? I go around curves and if there's a rough patch I can feel the back end vibrate and start to break loose. Had a scary unexpected drift on a freeway on ramp today because of this. Always wanted to learn how to drift a front wheel drive but this is a scary way to do it.
Re: strange over steer
Quick check would be remove it and see if the rear wheel chatter disappears.
I'd put more weight into the rear tire alignment, condition, and potentially a seized or very worn strut.
Does it only happen when making turns one direction?
Just my 2¢.

Re: strange over steer
Been a while since I've been here. Just wanted to update this post. it was indeed a very worn strut. replacing the rear struts solved the issue.

That's what I thought. Often installing another suspension component will reveal a problem with another worn out suspension part.
