Its real leather and its cut to fit the MX3 perfectly. I got the same and love it. It doesnt come with a top cap though. I just zipped tied the inside real tight and it stays up and looks OEM

I bought the recommended one, looks awesome. Need to soften the leather up a little then install. Thanks for the reference.
