Hi Guys
Finally i got my 1.8litre MX3.
It was running on only 3 cylinders but now its running on 6 and wow can you feel the massive difference.
Unfortunately its short lived.
My car when it idles it will idle smooth at about 900 rpms.
When you drive the car the torque and power is great! but after you come to a stop just idling the car will drop rpms to about 700 rpms hesitate/ shake and 1-2 minutes later the idle will raise itself..
Once the idle raises itself, car is full of power. But if it doesn't and i just drive from 700 rpms its sluggish and slow but it might KICK BACK in during the power band.. whats wrong?
its like boost, its sluggish then it kicks back in but if i leave it for it to idle correctly power is there from start too redline.
What could it be

i love that power and hate it when it becomes sluggish

Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak somewhere, might also do a full tune up on it.

try cleaning the tgrottle body, and iac valve. Also check your plugs, wires, etc.

Does it sound like it could be misfiring?

the car once warmed up can have numerous idles.
It would idle at 1300-1400 rpms then as the vehicle gets warmer stopping at lights it goes down to 1000 rpm but during this stage the car runs very powerful. After 15 minutes driving the car idle and stop , the car will then idle at about 600 rpms , misfire shake then 30 seconds later bounce to 900rpms and stay there.
Once the engine's been moving its very sluggish , i have sometimes seen radiator fluide leaking from somewhere at the bottom.
When the vehicles fully warm it will do the above miss fire shake, idle adjust itself and once its adjusted itself car runs fast again but then at any stop sign it goes back to missfiring, 10 seconds later its fine to drive but sluggish it has its episodes.
When you turn the AC on, idle goes up then down its trying to re calibarate itself, then it will go down to normal 900 rpms, when u turn it off, it will then try again to re adjust itself.
i think it misfires when the fans turns on!!
New plugs / new wires / new vac hoses.

Try cleaning the TPS or replacing. With a bad tps it will make the car run like crap and it will be sluggish. And the ecu has to adjust its self. Since you've got new plugs, wires, and vaccum hoses. Double check the vaccum hoses with some brake clean or something while the car is running, spray the break clean around hoses, if the car jumps to its normal idle then back down again, its a leak some where. Try these if its a no go. Let us know

Try checking your codes as well, see if you're pulling any codes then work from there.

i'll check codes and what about the TPS does it have to be in a correct positioning cause there might be some dirt inside it, the throttle body does look really dirty!

Yes the TPS has to be in the correct spot. The TPS monitors the position of the throttle if its out of sync then its not reading right and will cause it to run like crap
