Hey mxer's,

it's a 94 with the ZE. the disty im using is ending in the # 7172
so my car was taking a long time before starting so i took the disty apart to check the ring tone, and picks-ups etc. i cleaned it all up and re-installed it. The car starts right off the hop now no long turning, however now i have a misfire. ive taken it apart ample of times and tried to look to see if i have missed anything but everything seems fine sence the car starts right up. but i cant figure out why its misfiring now. but wasnt before.

any help would be great. also if anyone has a disty for sale in the Trenton, Belleville, Picton area i would be interested.

Make sure your firing order is correct and connections are good.
Plug wires bad maybe ?
Do you have another set to try ?
Try pulling each plug wire when engine is running to see if each is firing.
If its spark related this will tell ya what cylinder is misfiring or not sparking.

hey thanks for the reply. I figured it out. I took the disty apart right to the bottom where the pick-ups are, there was some kind of rubber melted on the megnetic pick-ups under the tune ring, so i cleaned it all up. and now shes working good again!

I have a stack of K8 Distributors in my garage

when you have one, you learn to NEVER EVER leave the ignition
on WITHOUT starting the car.

doesnt take long & your fried, sometimes the car will start bad & still run
even when its fried.

You can allso get wierd codes on the OBD I system, making you do lots of
wrong stuff LMAO

I learned the hard way
