Mileage?????

Is there anyway i can tell if my mileage on my car was screwed around with(turned back/disconnected) my car has 74000 km on a 94 and the guy i bought it from said he drove it every day to work, and he was the original owner. but his work was really far away so it should have over 100k on it easily.<P>how do u disconnect the speedometer on these cars???
