Why not go with a front mount? Might cost a bit more but it's vastly superior to a side mount for heat dissipation and it looks pretty awesome.

Greatly impedes flow to the radiator...

Yeah, it does look cool though. Everyone around will know your car is boosted...

For what he's running he doesn't need a monster FMIC, our cars have adequate cooling so that wouldn't be a big deal.

And who cares if someone can see your cars boosted when they kneel down to look at the front bumper? There isn't a big enough area in our bumpers to notice a reasonably sized front mount and most go with black FMICs anyway.

I wish I had a good picture of Mi|<e's Bpt MX3, he's got a front mount with a stock bumper, only other body modification being it's lowered a little and it's the most unassuming car ever, FMIC is barely visible unless you're a foot away from the front bumper.

That's true, a shorter(height, not length) one would keep the rad fairly free for airflow.

I guess what popped into my head was the stereotypical giant FMIC on a Civic -.- There are so many flying around my town, and you can see from the front that it's not even connected to anything... I don't get the point at all. :/

If you're running low boost, you could always use your smaller intercooler and run a vent from beneath the bumper. It could still look very clean, and get a little direct airflow...
