Hey guys, looking for some opinions.
I'm looking at new set of rims/tires for this upcoming autox season.
Basically decided on 225/50/16 Hankook RS-3's
Now its just wheels.
Looking at TRM C1's, $130/ea, 15.2lb gravity cast
Motegi MR125, $150/ea, 15.2lb, cast.
Any other suggestions? I love Rota Grid's and Volk TE37's, but I'd love to stay under $200/ea.

You can grab a full set of 16x8 +0 Rota Grids for $550ish shipped on ebay.ca
I prefer the Motegis out of those two though.

Looking to maintain similar offset to retain handling characteristics. Should add that.

Something like these here?

I;ve got this exact set and it didn't feel very different from the five spoke summers I was running on before them(Both had Falken 452s although the grids were 16s vs the five spokes being 15). I wasn't pushing them super hard or anything but they seemed comparable.

Are you looking for 6.5", 7", or 8" wide?
With 225/50/16's I would think 8" would be better. So you would really want an offset between +30 and +38 and you should not rub.
I have 949 racing 15x7.5 with a +42 and with the 225/50's the front rubs with coils. I have 10mm spacers all around.
Have you looked at the CCW LM16's? Though they are crazy expensive. There is a guy on club roadster selling a really nice set for like half price.
I would go for the Motegi's

What color is your mx-3. I've seen this color on a white one and a black one and it looks really good.
Of your three pics I'd pick the Rays because lots of other brands makes ones similar to the motegis.

I'm a poor guy like all the rest of you. Rays are worth more than my whole car.

Yeah, TE37s are stupid expensive, could buy a whole another car for autocrossing then those.
Rota grids look just like them and are considerably cheaper, also come in better sizes.

Not really stupid expensive for a forged racing wheel
All Rotas are copies of some famous wheels or another. Miro STP1's are nice and not hugely expensive

Okay, basically settled on the Grids. Hankook Ventus RS-3's are ordered and should be here next week.
Just wondering, if anyone has actually fit 225/50/16's on 16x8 rims and what offset you needed...

PM Aarontietje, pretty sure that's the exact size he's running, just with +20 offset.
