I'm Back.

It's been a little over 5 years since I sold my sprayed KLZE mx-3, man I miss that car. I recently picked up a 96 mx3, just to mod the hell out of. I've been poking around the forums seems like a lot of newer people so I just thought I'd say hello to everyone.

Let's get started shall we. In the 7 days I've owned the car I've acquired a KLG4 from a 2002 mazda 626, h&r lowering springs, I've got a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch and CM aluminum flywheel on order. And if Everything works out this weekend I should have a turbo, pipes and intercooler.

My questions are;

1. I called the ford dealership and the s/r tokico's are no longer available. I might just stay on the stock ones as they are still good, but what are people using these days?

2. I've got a set of 16x7 traklites I'd like to put on, unfortunately they are 5x114.3 What are the options for the 5 lug swap? 88-92 probe/mx6 gt? do front and rears swap? I've found conflicting information.

3. Do OBD 2 cars still have the diagnosis box under the hood by the drivers shock tower? I think I have an OBD1 (still has diagnosis box) but it is a 96 model year, but production date is dec/95 I don't see a port under the dash either for a code reader? any insight?

Welcome back! It has been a while!
I have run Gabriels on H&R springs for several years, and a guy who raced on K2s said that my car was as balanced as his, after tuning them.
For your other queries, you'll find answers in here somewhere.

The OBD2 port would be behind the radio on the passengers side under the dash. If the car was produced in 95 it may well be an OBD1. Look at the exhaust. If you see one O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold then a second O2 sensor just down from the manifold in the exhaust pipe it's OBD2.

Sweet welcome back to the MX3 world! Im sure alot has changed as far as some mods and the people on the forum since you left.

1. The make coilovers for the MX3 now. Im not sure about other brands but the ksports are pretty nice. the ride is ok for DD and on the track they hold very well BUT its hard to just rate one suspension upgrade when you have many :shrug:
