GC's still utilizes the stock style of shocks which causes problems for me and I will share.

Problem

#1 GC's utilize the stock shock style which has a very large lower spring perch which limits the tire size I am able to run for racing.

#2 Gc's are not a true coilover, the shock still retains its standard valving therefore not being fully adjustable in that respect. The others have adjustable valving. I know I can upgrade to koni inserts for about $600 which then puts it at $400 for GC's and $600 for inserts so at $1k.

#3 When getting GC's you still have the stock top mount for the front which does not have an adjustable upper mount for camber and caster. You can buy Cusco ones for around $300. So that puts the total price over $1300 and you still dont get the true benefits of what I mentioned earlier. Most COMPLETE sets are around $900-$1300 for the D2, K-sport, xyz.

Thats why I dont want a set of GC's.

You can modify the lower spring perch on the stock struts. :? That's what I plan to do for my setup, for cleanliness reasons mostly.

I agree on the strut inserts though, more money into the setup. :(
If you had seen the setup I scored, I think you would have jumped on them!

For what it's worth, skyscrapers beat mountaintops any day. Mountaintops are more fun, true, and your voice carries better... but you can't take the elevator to a mountaintop. None that I've visited anyways.

There is a flaw in your reasoning.

#1 You cant drive an MX-3 to the top of a skyscaper (at leasy easily) so what would be the fun in that.

#2 You might fall off said skyscaper to certain death where as you may just roll off the mountain

True, you also might not be able to fit an MX-3 into an elevator

You could tip the skyscraper over and drive up it, of course you'd have to reinforce every window heavily... not to mention demolishing a building, without damaging the topmost exterior wall, or superstructure... :welder:
