Ok I'm doing engine swap along with a trany swap and I got a probe for the parts car and it came with every thing my main question atm is. Does the probes axles fit in the mx-3s? I'm thinking no cause the probe is probably a bit wider

No...you are correct the track width is different.

Quite a bit longer. You could try it, but I really doubt it...

just use your oem tranny, plenty strong to withstand bolt ons and you dont have to waste time/money trying to make it work. Just use the motor sell the tranny for more monies

also as a side note the splines are a different count from the probe/mx6 to the mx3 so they would not work with your spindles as well.

are you boosting it? why would you need to put a probe tranny in? I have a klze with multiple bolt ons, limited slip, fidanza 9lb flywheel, centerforce dual friction, and the car has seen nothing but track time for the past 5 years without a failure so im curious why?

No they're not, they're identical and swappable (refering to the trannies themselves), the only ones that are different are the LSD varients from overseas, although there is one that matches, it's hard to get a hold of.

People have been swapping Probe, Mx6 and 626 trans for many years, the 626 and Mx-6 having a taller 5th and a longer final drive, some perfer it when swapping a KL into an Mx-3.

Re: cv axles
for the record, probe axles won't even slide into mx-3 hubs. the spline is wrong, and it is about .125" bigger diameter.

and longer too I guess

does anyone know if the probe spindles will bolt onto the mx-3 a-arms? it would be nice to have the beefier axles, and a 5 bolt wheel hub.....
