looks similar to a mazdaspeed protege, interesting concept, the overall look would require some tweaking of a 626 though.

Guys have talked about that car on the north american forums for years. it could be done at great expense. The AWD part would be more difficult than the TT part I think. I don't know what tranny and rear diff Mazda used on that project. If you knew that and it was something easy to sourse that would bolt up to the ZE then maybe.

Either way...HUGE money would be required.

This has been covered before. Sure a TT KLZE would be cool, but the same more more power can be found with a single turbo setup for less cash. If you want to go ahead and TT your car then go for it, but the work involved would be fairly intense and the cost could also get way up there.

There was a guy a few years ago that had a twin turbo probe which he eventually rolled. If you do some research on probetalk you can proly find out more information but from what I can remember it was REALLY tight in the car. He had to fab all the pipes to make it work properly and I dont even know how he tuned it or ran intercooler pipes.

Anyways, Cardomain seems to be down, but here is the page I THINK may have some info on the car:

There was also a vid of the crash as it happened but I cannot find it anymore.

That probe is nuts. And to think the guy was only shooting for 13-14 sec 1/4 mile times haha.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

I agree that twin turbo is dumb. that power output is easily done with a small single turbo

That twin turbo setup, also known as a sequential turbo setup, is not meant to give high hp. It uses 2 different turbos: one small turbo spools up very quickly, and increases power in the lower RPM range, and then, when the revs go up, the second turbo takes over. So, yes, that power can be achieved with a single turbo, but to get power across most of the RPM range, you need 2.

You don't need 2 turbos, just 1 to spool up your VTEC y0

Mardarati on probetalk did a twin turbo KL MX6 close to ten years ago. He still has the setup, originally he used two first gen F2T turbos, not sure what he has now. I believe the setup is on son's car now. He's got a few turbo KLs at the house.
